This role will support and execute the social media marketing strategy for the Brand Sponsorships line of business, as well as the campaign process from end-to-end. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to understand business objectives with the goal of informing strategic intent for social posts. With manager support, they will brief creative teams, provide strategic guidance and guardrails for paid media support, and work with internal partners, as well as legal teams, to ensure we are publishing a regular cadence of brand-defining content that delivers on Capital One’s strategy and brand standards. The candidate will also be responsible for analyzing the results of social media initiatives and applying learnings and recommendations to future campaigns.
What the Social Media Strategist will do:
Work with Manager to help execute social strategies for Brand Sponsorships line of business across Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, TikTok, LinkedIn, Reddit, Snapchat, etc to support their objectives
Partner with creative teams and agencies on creative development to ensure marketing materials are on brand, high quality, unassailable, and delivered on schedule
Provide creative feedback ensuring content is on brand, on brief, and relevant for social media
Manage input and approvals from cross-functional stakeholders (business partners, creative team, legal, compliance, 3rd party partners, talent teams, etc.) and partner across the organization and various teams to communicate and manage projects
Handle various project-oriented tasks, such as process improvements, calendar development, paid trafficking, talent vetting, etc.
Publish social content supporting the enterprise organic social strategy via Sprinklr and natively
Keep abreast of industry trends and competitive strategies to identify potential challenges and opportunities in the short and long term
With support, manage creative team and external content creators to execute social content in real time at onsite events
Share insights and learnings that influence future campaigns and strategies, optimizing marketing strategies informed by past results and consumer insights.
What you will bring to the role:
Strong communicator with experience collaborating across various teams and agencies to get work done
Bonus if your experience is with creative teams to create social media content
Knowledge of social media marketing and/or a passion to learn and become a SME in the space (including astute knowledge of social media best practices and guidelines including: targeting, channel strategies, KPI development, high-level understanding of paid social media, analytics / insight tools)
Bonus if you have direct experience across any or all of the major social platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X, Snapchat, Reddit, Pinterest, etc.)
Keen process orientation and attention to detail - ability to work independently to execute processes and manage up to help resolve problems
Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with flawless execution while adhering to tight timelines, also making sure efforts are meeting the business needs at every touch point
Experience with and or passion to learn how to leverage influencers in social media initiatives
Skilled relationship-builder with strong aptitude for client relationship management
Ability to be flexible and fungible with various changes and to remain calm under pressure and problem solve in real time

Travel expected. Approximately ~25% of the time to support real time event social media capture, sometimes falling on weekends and holidays
Basic Qualifications:
High School Diploma, GED or Equivalent Certification
At least 3 years of experience in marketing, consumer brand, digital marketing or a combination of these
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree or military experience
4+ years of marketing communications or social or digital advertising with a focus on social or digital marketing
2+ years of experience running paid social campaigns
Experience in the Sports, Sponsorships, Event Production, or Entertainment industry
Experience handling “real time” events

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
Chicago, IL: $86,000 - $98,200 for Sr. Associate, BrandCandidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI).
