As a Senior Associate on the US Card Affiliate Operations Team, you’ll serve as the central point of contact between Capital One and the ~5-6 Affiliates that you manage out of our 20+ affiliate partner program. Affiliate Marketing is one of the largest digital acquisition channels for Card. You will help plan and optimize our affiliate marketing strategy with the Affiliates you manage in order to drive new customer acquisitions through this channel. You'll manage the day to day interactions with affiliate partners and help to ensure our affiliate marketing is compliant.
We’re seeking a dedicated professional who excels in a team environment, has strong relationship management skills, is able to effectively communicate, shows strong attention to detail, and is comfortable adapting to change. A marketing background is a plus as you’ll act as a creative consultant to our affiliate partners and make recommendations for how to optimize this marketing channel. Strong process and project management skills are also essential to success.
Responsibilities:
Manage the relationships with ~5-6 of our Affiliate marketing partners
Act as the central point of contact for those Affiliate partners with Capital One
Facilitate regular meetings with the partners, setting the agenda and documenting commitments and follow-ups in meeting notes
Act as the liaison between the affiliate partners and our internal business teams
Respond to ad hoc questions/requests from the Affiliate partners or from our business teams that require interfacing with the Affiliate partner
Troubleshoot issues as they arise with Affiliate partners, helping to identify the breakdown and involving the right stakeholders to remediate the issue
Work with our Enterprise Supplier Management partners to update affiliate contracts as needed, and with our business partners to update contracts as we make payout changes
Periodically provide feedback on the Affiliate partners to help improve the relationship and contribute to our Enterprise Supplier Management maintained scorecards
Maintain publisher contact list with POCs at each Affiliate partner that you manage
Oversee how our products are marketed with the ~5-6 affiliate partners that you manage
Act as a creative consultant to our affiliate partners as they design advertising on our behalf
Ensure all new paid experiences are reviewed and documented through our creative legal review process
Track new experience reviews over time looking for themes and opportunities to streamline the process
Onboard new products with the existing Affiliate partners you manage
Work with a third party supplier to execute ongoing compliance monitoring and reporting for the ~5-6 affiliate partners you manage
Review the findings from our third party supplier’s compliance audit; Confirm the violations that they flag and assess the severity level of each
For high violations, work with a teammate to supply the information necessary for the remediation process
Where an affiliate has repeated violations, manage the probation process with the goal of getting the Affiliate partner back in good standing
Work with our risk partners to file anomalies when needed
Help optimize the performance of our Affiliate marketing with the ~5-6 partners that you own
Understand performance of your Affiliate partners to help identify any issues and go after optimization opportunities to increase efficiency and grow the program
Scope future tests with the Affiliate business team, thinking through the highest leverage ways to structure tests to achieve the most valuable results (payout changes, product changes, creative and landing page testing, etc.)
Review the performance of your Affiliate partners every 6 months and recommend offboarding any partners that are no longer driving value for us
Contribute to a monthly business review deck
Maintain an optimization mindset always looking for new ways to improve processes and reduce manual work to make the team more efficient
Be well managed in your work, documenting processes, reviews and approvals, new experiences, launch validations, etc.
Coordinate across internal teams including Risk, Legal, business partners, tech teams, etc. and external partners including affiliates, third party suppliers, etc. to execute Affiliate marketing strategies end to end
Participate in cross training teammates to ensure coverage for critical work
Solid understanding of performance marketing, conversions, and online customer acquisition
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or military experience
At least 2 years of project, process, or risk management experience
At least 1 year of experience in digital acquisition marketing
At least 1 year of vendor or relationship management experience
At least 1 year of experience with Google Suite or Microsoft Office applications
Preferred Qualifications:
2+ years of experience working for an affiliate, affiliate marketing agency or brand that manages affiliate marketing in house
Process certifications (LEAN, Six Sigma, Business Process Management) or project management certifications (CAPM, PMP)
3+ years of project, process, or risk management experience
2+ years of vendor or relationship management experience
2+ years of risk management or compliance experience
2+ years of Google Suite experience

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
McLean, VA: $94,600 - $107,900 for Sr. Associate, MarketingCandidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI).
