Capital One Software provides enterprise B2B software and data management solutions to help other businesses accelerate their cloud journeys, manage cloud costs, and secure sensitive data. These products are based on tools Capital One developed internally to support its own large-scale cloud and data management operations, making the bank's technology innovations available to the wider market. The Capital One Software Legal team needs help to support this high growth business.
In this role, you will be the business counsel for Capital One Software’s highly visible and strategic international expansion. Capital One Software currently has customers in the U.S. and seeks to quickly increase its global footprint by offering its flagship products, Slingshot and Databolt, internationally. You will work closely with business leaders to understand the business intent, work with outside counsel and/or internal subject matter experts to identify legal obligations and risks, and then provide recommendations to help the business effectively manage those risks, including by revising user-facing content, drafting product terms and disclosures, and assisting with contractual modifications. Due to the business’ rapid international growth, this is a highly visible role within the Legal Department and Capital One and offers a chance to develop meaningful relationships across the enterprise. You should be comfortable thinking “outside the box”. Your (to be learned) understanding of Capital One’s banking history and technology journey, the commercial software industry, and applicable international law will allow you to work around the corners of novelty.
