We are looking for an exceptional associate to lead the team that owns the planning and logistics of our signature events along with the engagement strategy for the Students and Grads Programs. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership, customer focus, organization, and communication skills.

Lead, Students & Grads Programs Operations

The Program Operations team is seeking a Lead at the Manager level, who will be responsible for the leadership of a team of nine, including one people leader. This team will be responsible for planning and logistics for signature events for all Students & Grads programs. As the Lead, this individual will be responsible for setting the overall operations strategy to support programs as well as continuously improving strategies and partnerships. They should have strong customer focus and the ability to understand the unique needs of each program, while remaining committed to scaling and streamlining operations. This role will have a heavy focus on people management, with direct responsibility of leading and managing a large team, as well as expectations for broader team leadership.

The Lead is responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with programs teams to create and adapt our operations strategy to create meaningful experiences. The Programs Operations team plans for hundreds of  events per year, so this is a fast-paced culture with many growth and leadership opportunities.  

In this role you will also:

• Be hyper-focused on providing an exceptional stakeholder and associate/client experience with each and every event we organize. 

• Partner with key program stakeholders to oversee the execution of signature Students & Grads Program Events (Experience Weeks, Onboarding, Graduation) supporting event and logistics support services (fun events, catering, swag, hotel room blocks, etc.) in accordance with Capital One's support process, standards and systems

• Build and own relationships with internal clients, stakeholders and external vendors 

• Own program budgets, which includes tracking, forecasting, and auditing information on a cadenced basis 

• Help management identify and implement process improvements that enhance the associate experience and/or operational efficiency

• Measure impact. You will measure and track the success of the Programs Operations strategy, analyze the return on the investment, and share findings with key stakeholders.

• Be a people manager for a large team spread across multiple locations; help with their overall career development and provide guidance and coaching to help them be successful.

• Work closely with the larger Students & Grads team to ensure a cohesive candidate experience throughout the full candidate journey.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree or military experience

• At least 3 years of experience in Recruiting, Project Management, Events Management or combination 

• At least 1 year of people management experience
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• At least 4 years of experience in Recruiting,  Project Management, Events Management or combination 

• At least 2 years of people management experience

• Experience in Campus or Early Career Programs

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

McLean, VA: $146,100 - $166,700 for Recruiting Manager

Richmond, VA: $132,800 - $151,600 for Recruiting Manager

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
