Manager, Leadership and Enterprise Experiences Facilitator

Capital One's Enterprise Learning & Development (L&D) organization is seeking an experienced facilitator to deliver engaging and impactful learning experiences for leaders and associates across the company. You'll play a pivotal role in ensuring our learning experiences are delivered with user and business objectives at the forefront, are highly engaging, and consistently achieve measurement impact in the growth and development of our associates.

Your expert content knowledge connects concepts seamlessly to real-world applications, enriching learning with relevant examples and insights (storytelling, role-plays, and real-life problem-solving).

  • A Strategic & Adaptable Educator: You excel at creating and maintaining positive learning environments for all levels, fostering psychological safety where every learner feels heard and respected, even in complex situations. Your high emotional intelligence allows you to empathetically respond to learners' needs. You build rapport through active listening and validating their experiences. You proactively promote inclusivity by respecting diverse perspectives and addressing potential issues before they arise.

  • A Collaborative & Growth-Oriented Teammate: Thriving in a team environment, you show keen attention to detail, proactively recommend improvements to learning designers, and quickly adapt to change. You leverage coaching, feedback, and reflective practices to foster personal and peer growth.

  • An Influential & Impactful Partner: You skillfully influence leaders and partners to ensure effective adoption of learning initiatives. You partner with Lines of Business and program staff to define success metrics. Leveraging behavioral observation, rubric-based assessment, and psychometric considerations, you validate learning effectiveness. You consistently connect theoretical concepts to practical, real-world scenarios, tailoring examples to learners' specific business roles and industries.

This Is a Visible Role with the Ability to Impact Change Across the Company. To Do This, You Will…

  • Facilitate multi-day leadership development programs in collaboration with other facilitators and program teams

  • Deliver open enrollment competency courses for associates at all levels

  • Provide tailored facilitation aligned to specific stakeholder needsDeliver training on a mix of topics related to leaders, competencies, team effectiveness. This includes content for new people leaders on topics such as having difficult conversations, performance and talent management, giving and receiving feedback, advanced competencies, as well as open enrollment classes and team effectiveness sessions for intact and cross-functional teams

  • Adjust delivery seamlessly based on learner engagement, ensuring a balance between interactive and instructional techniques

  • Incorporate multi-modal techniques (e.g., shared digital spaces, virtual and in-person) that create an engaging and balanced learning experience for all

Here's What You Need to Be Successful:

  • Bring exceptional facilitation and communication skills with an ability to engage groups, generate conversation, and present content in a compelling and impactful style

  • Set clear, concise objectives that are easily understood by all learners and adjust them seamlessly based on learner needs

  • Provide clear, tailored instructions that are adjusted in real time to ensure learner understanding and alignment with session objectives

  • Regularly check for understanding throughout the session and adjust the flow to keep learners aligned with the objectives

  • Proactively share recommendations and collaborate with stakeholders to identify gaps and emerging needs, grounded in data insights

  • Prepare, create, and maintain positive learning environments for associates ranging from entry-level/early career to senior leadership

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent certification

  • 4 years of facilitation experience

  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically, ~30% of the time

  • At least 2 years experience leading teams with 2 or more direct reports

  • Must be located in Richmond or McLean, VA

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • 5+ years of experience in learning and development field

  • 2+ years of experience in leadership development or coaching

  • Certification in CliftonStrengths, MBTI, SDI (Core Strengths), DiSC, or other team or personality assessments

  • Experience in the financial services industry

  • Experience with acting, improv, or public speaking

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

McLean, VA: $126,700 - $144,600 for Learning Manager


Richmond, VA: $115,200 - $131,500 for Learning Manager










Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
