Commercial Executive Communications Senior Associate

Capital One is seeking a high-energy and strategic communicator to join our Commercial Communications team. In this senior-level Associate role, you will serve as a critical strategic execution partner, working directly alongside communication leads and senior executives to shape the internal narrative of our Commercial Bank. As a Top 10 US domestic Commercial Bank, Capital One services over 5,000 clients with an $90B loan portfolio and $31B in deposits, offering deep financial expertise across industries such as Healthcare, Commercial Real Estate, and Food, Beverage & Agriculture. 

This position requires a unique blend of flawless execution and creative storytelling. You will be responsible for translating complex commercial banking strategies into engaging, high-impact internal campaigns that connect associates to our business goals and culture. The ideal candidate brings exceptional attention to detail, a strong understanding of the financial landscape, and proven experience navigating the nuances of executive leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Executive Partnership & Execution: Partner closely with Line of Business (LOB) communication leads to co-author and execute comprehensive internal communication strategies for Commercial Bank executives and their organizations.

  • High-Profile Content Development: Write, refine, and produce polished internal content for senior leaders, including organizational announcements, executive talking points, town hall presentations, and strategic team updates.

  • Strategic Storytelling: Elevate impactful client and associate stories across the Commercial Bank. Manage and modernize internal channels, including intranet sites, ensuring all content aligns with executive voice and enterprise Brand standards.

  • Message Alignment & Integrity: Serve as a guardian of the executive voice, ensuring all messaging is precise, accurate, and perfectly aligned with the broader Commercial Communications team’s strategy.

  • Data-Driven Optimization: Establish, track, and analyze internal engagement metrics to evaluate the health of our communications and proactively recommend strategic adjustments.

  • Cross-Functional Influence: Collaborate seamlessly with Chiefs of Staff, Senior Leadership teams, HR, and horizontal business groups to drive organizational alignment and cultural connection.

  • Experience developing diversity, inclusion, and belonging communications

  • Proven track record of leveraging data, metrics, and associate feedback to shape communication tactics

  • Meticulous Yet Creative: You have an uncompromising eye for detail—nothing slips past you. At the same time, you are a creative thinker who knows how to make corporate and financial concepts visually compelling and deeply engaging for a broad audience.

  • Financially Astute: You possess a strong baseline understanding of the finance or commercial banking world - or are eager to learn - enabling you to translate business jargon into meaningful associate narratives.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Military experience

  • At least 3 years of experience in Corporate Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, OR at least 3 years of experience directly supporting a senior executive 

  • At least 2 years of experience managing digital content creation tools (such as Google Workspace and Adobe Creative Suite)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience managing internal executive communications or organizational change management

  • 4+ years of experience working within the commercial banking, fintech, or financial services sectors

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

Charlotte, NC: $80,800 - $92,200 for Sr. Communications Associate


McLean, VA: $88,800 - $101,300 for Sr. Communications Associate


Plano, TX: $80,800 - $92,200 for Sr. Communications Associate


Richmond, VA: $80,800 - $92,200 for Sr. Communications Associate








Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
