We are seeking a Senior Associate, Benefits to join our Benefits and HR Services team. This role is focused on the operations and technology that underpin the delivery of benefits and HR services for our US-based products and experiences.
This role is focused on partnering with Benefits & HR Services Business Intent Owners (including LT members and Process/Program/Policy Owners) and Global Core HR Platforms. The primary goal is to ensure that the platforms and applications utilized by the Benefits & HR Services teams possess the necessary capabilities to:
Advance business strategy.
Deliver exceptional experiences.
Generate the data and reporting essential for operations and meaningful insights.
Key responsibilities include strategic problem-solving and driving well-managed changes to both systems and business processes. The position also requires coordination of systems processing related to annual Open Enrollment and Workday Release cycles, including thorough test documentation and execution.

Key Responsibilities:
Serve as a liaison with product and tech teams, representing all systems-related work for the business team. This includes engaging in empathy research to understand their vision, mission, business objectives, goals, key performance indicators, processes, systems, reports, suppliers, and integrations. Utilize these insights to provide recommendations for continuous improvement and assist in prioritizing both portfolio-level and local systems initiatives.
Partnering with Product to facilitate prioritization by submitting front door intake forms on behalf of the business team. This includes documenting and translating business requirements for new system functionality and reporting, as well as assessing return on investment, level of effort, and calculating the value-based assessment scores.
Designing and managing the testing strategy, test plan, test scenarios, test cases, and overseeing User Acceptance Testing (UAT), in partnership with the business team.
Troubleshooting system issues (first line before escalation to product and tech), and escalating, as needed.
Supporting the business team in establishing post-launch monitoring to confirm ROI, and supplier implementations/integrations, in partnership with product and tech.
Ensuring traceability in testing documentation to ensure that delivered products are well-managed, meet stakeholder expectations, and operate as intended. This involves ensuring all requirements are aligned to applicable test scenarios and test cases, and that test scenarios and test cases map directly back to each requirement.
Structuring, organizing, and tracking project work in Jira, and engaging in team, portfolio, and partner ceremonies and routines to drive and deliver initiatives on-time and according to requirements.
Partnering with client(s) to maintain a healthy backlog of continuous improvement items in Jira.
Cross-training with other team members in order to back-up teammates, as needed, in support of all functional areas across Benefits & HR Services.
Proactively stay current with the latest trends, tools, and developments in generative AI and other technology to drive continuous improvement; identify and recommend process improvements to drive efficiency and automation through technology.
Use AI tools to accomplish tasks relevant to business processes.
Participation in annual enrollment and system release cycles, ensuring smooth and accurate execution for the enterprise.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree or military experience
At least 1 year of experience in Human Resources, Benefits or Payroll administration; or, equivalent combination of related work experience and education
At least 1 year of participation in technology projects, with demonstrated project management expertise, overseeing initiatives from concept to completion, including effective stakeholder engagement.
At least 1 year of experience participating in the testing strategy, test plans, test scenarios, test cases, and overseeing User Acceptance Testing (UAT), in partnership with a client group
At least 2 years of experience in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) or Google Suite such as Google Docs, Slides, Sheets, etc.
Preferred Qualifications:
Proficiency with Workday and Salesforce
Experience using AI and/or technology to generate creative ideas, solve problems, troubleshoot common business problems, and translate them into tangible more efficient work products.
1+ years of experience with Workday configuration or Workday integrations
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Data Analytics, Business Analysis, Business Administration, or Human Resources
2+ years of experience in Systems Analysis, Information Technology, Data Analytics, or Benefits
1+ years of experience with Google Apps Script or Visual Basic for Applications (VBA)
1+ years of experience with Kainos

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
McLean, VA: $96,500 - $110,100 for Sr. Assoc., BenefitsCandidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI).
