Associate Experience Technology (AXT) is seeking a Risk Manager to join Capital One’s Cross-Tech Controls Governance Team. As a Risk Manager in AXT, you will apply your Technology risk and control analytical skills to our highest profile projects, and drive meaningful change. Risk Managers partner with executives and their teams across the multiple lines of defense to identify and implement Tech control portfolio opportunities in an open collaborative environment.
The Risk Manager will play a key role in the ongoing management of our Controls Transformation and Automation initiatives. Your contributions will drive organizational change through effective and proactive risk identification, measurement, analysis and reporting in order to better manage the company’s Tech controls portfolio in an open and collaborative environment. The ideal candidate will be a highly-motivated and experienced Technology risk professional with excellent analytical, tech control portfolio management, and influence skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Advocate on behalf of Technology and collaborate with Cyber teams, Lines of Business, and Risk Management teams to mature Capital One's Technology Controls Transformation and Governance program.
Lead analysis on Technology control problems to identify opportunities to streamline, automate and enhance our Tech controls governance practices, processes and controls
Develop practical solutions to improve Tech control management processes, using data and technology
Design, test, and facilitate implementation of internal governance processes and formal controls
Champion organizational adoption of our controls transformation and automation initiatives
Support execution of 1st line of defense assessment of risk and compliance with risk governance practices and processes
Coordinate with 2nd line of defense advisors, external auditors and regulators to address audit and exam requests
Lead and participate in communication and engagement forums
Create engaging and influential communication materials and tailor communication strategies to address the needs and preferences of diverse stakeholder groups
Participate in and execute other special projects for the team on a periodic basis
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree
At least 3 years of experience in Information Technology, Information Security, Information Systems Risk Management or Information Systems Auditing,
At least 3 years of experience in IT controls (design, operation, risk management, or auditing)
At least 3 years of Project Management experience managing multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously
At least 3 years of experience in analysis to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies
At least 3 years of experience developing, evaluating or implementing governance of technology initiatives
Preferred Qualifications:
3+ years of Financial Services experience
1+ years of experience in performing Control Self Assessments , or completing assessment, or NIST Cybersecurity Risk Framework.
1+ years of experience developing and implementing industry risk frameworks, quantitative analysis, tools, and methodologies (COSO, quantitative analysis, Process, Risk and Control)
1+ years of experience working with Big4 audit firms
1+ years of experience working with Sarbanes Oxley regulations
Cybersecurity and technology risk certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) or related certifications

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
McLean, VA: $146,100 - $166,700 for Risk ManagerCandidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI).
