At Capital One, we dare to dream, disrupt and deliver a better way. Our goal is simple—bring ingenuity, simplicity and humanity to an industry ripe for change. Our Global Workplace Services (GWS) team is a dynamic organization where development matters as much as our ability to provide collaborative and secure environments that drive connection, innovation and business success. Our commitment extends beyond solutions; it embraces a culture of care. We value, celebrate and respect each teammate's unique talents, experience, and contributions.
In GWS, our team manages a diverse portfolio of mixed-use owned and leased properties. We’re constantly transforming our workplace to enable our employees to work the way they work best. But it doesn’t stop there. We don’t just reimagine and create fabulous spaces and amenities, we also manage and operate them and ensure the safety and security of our employees and the community—we’re a well-oiled machine! That’s why our team is looking to add a Principal Associate Physical Security Engineer.
We are seeking a highly capable Principal Associate Engineer to support and evolve enterprise-scale physical security technology platforms across a global footprint. This role sits at the intersection of engineering, operations, and program execution, supporting mission-critical systems that protect people, assets, and facilities.

You will operate as a trusted technical owner, driving system reliability, troubleshooting complex issues, improving operational processes, and contributing to strategic initiatives across alarm, video surveillance, and access control systems. You will work directly with engineering leadership, cross-functional partners, and vendors to ensure our platforms remain stable, scalable, and continuously improving.

Contribute to solutions with confidence, achieve desired outcomes effectively, and demonstrate leadership among peers.
Consistently apply expertise, deeply understand day-to-day operations, and operate with little oversight and high success.
Manage work effectively, consider multiple perspectives, and lead through ambiguity to gain buy-in and declare next steps.
Hold self and others accountable to Capital One values and constructively challenges non-aligned decisions.
Be open to creative solutions, collaborate with others to solve problems, and ground issue severity on level of impact.
Manage work to deliver results per timelines, prioritize business-critical work, and manage high volume effectively.
Respect individual contributions, actively helps others succeed, and consistently volunteers for staffing and training support.
Be able to make decisions, while under stress, that provides for the safety and security of the Capital One associates, visitors and assets
Be comfortable working with physical, field-deployed systems such as cameras, alarm panels, access control devices, or other physical security IoT/edge technologies
Demonstrate a balance of technical depth and practical execution, with the ability to operate effectively in real-world environments
Thrive in a mission critical, life safety operational environment, managing multiple priorities while maintaining a high standard of system reliability
Key Responsibilities

Ensure systems meet uptime, compliance, and operational standards across all supported sites
