Principal Associate, Content Strategist (Tech Blog)

Now, we need a content strategist to help tell these highly technical stories. In this role, you’ll lead the strategy for Capital One’s Tech Blog, working across tech and marketing teams to produce content that connects with a global community of technologists who seek deeply technical information that shows the work behind the hype.
We are seeking someone who understands and identifies complex technical stories, can engage internal authors, and package stories into compelling, high-quality blog articles that appeal to a niche technologist audience. This role is ideal for someone with a background in technical writing, engineering, or science, who can seek out and promote topics that will capture the attention of this fast-paced technology field that includes data scientists and researchers, software engineers, and data management professionals. You’ll collaborate with associates from across the company, manage stakeholder relationships, set a strategic roadmap to growth, and deliver meaningful content that showcases why Capital One is a leader in technology.
What you’ll do
Set strategy for the external-facing Capital One Tech Blog, ensuring articles align with Brand department and stakeholder objectives.
Lead program management for the blog, including submission tracking, review status and program capacity.
Review content for SEO/GEO/AEO optimizations to attract organic audiences to our content.
Input and QA blog content within our CMS platform as part of the final publishing process.
Own publishing/reporting across syndicate channels, including Medium.
Leverage process improvements and AI tools to create efficiencies in article creation, editing, and reviews.
Lead blog outreach by building relationships with Capital One technologists to foster a robust roster of engaged authors.
Lead regular content audits to ensure published content remains relevant and updated.
Manage a cross-channel editorial calendar for Tech content on site and social platforms, and regularly meet with stakeholders to align on tactics and cross-team collaborations.
Set benchmarks for article success and report out metrics through regular reporting cycles.
Collaborate with the creative team to select and develop static/video blog graphic needs for social and site channels.

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or military experience
At least 4 years of content strategy experience for a technical audience
At least 2 years of experience writing and editing technical, scientific, or engineering content
At least 2 years of experience publishing content using content management systems
Preferred Qualifications
1+ years experience with strategic Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
Experience in tech marketing, or a knowledge of technology fundamentals in AI/ML, cloud computing, software engineering, or data management
Persuasive, excellent written and oral communication, presentation, and editing skills
Ability to partner effectively with cross-functional teams, work autonomously, and navigate ambiguity (including senior stakeholders, creative teams, operations, legal, and Public Relations)
Skilled relationship-builder with strong, high-leverage internal networks
Ability to analyze content analytics to provide evidence-based recommendations

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
Sales Territory: $109,900 - $125,400 for Principal Associate, BrandCandidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI).
