As a Sr. Director in Capital One’s Risk Management Organization you will apply your leadership and analytical skills to our highest profile Risk Management projects. This is a high-impact, high-visibility role where you will be at the forefront of shaping our future by developing innovative solutions and building world-class risk management practices that provide a competitive advantage. Capital One’s Risk Management organization partners with Executives and lines of business to drive organizational change in order to better manage the Company’s Risk in an open, collaborative environment where new ideas and solutions are both welcomed and rewarded.

Risk Management Leaders at Capital One are highly motivated professionals with diverse backgrounds and excellent organizational, leadership and communication skills. They have a high level of exposure across lines of business and the opportunity to work with Executives to create and implement innovative solutions to identify and mitigate potential risks to the Company.

For this role a Sr. Director would leverage their business and technology background to manage, train, and enhance programs for our fast growing, innovative, and complex businesses

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a key strategic contributor in all areas of risk management including our technology and innovation agenda

  • Responsible for helping to execute and implement key risk management programs, technologies, and solutions into the dynamic and fast-moving Refinance business

  • Engaging in numerous aspects of the business across all categories of risk

  • Key participant in engagements with the overall Capital One enterprise, including Enterprise Risk Management and Operational Risk Management

  • Working with the Risk Leadership to scan the external landscape for emerging risks


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or military experience

  • At least 5 years of people management experience

  • At least 5 years experience in compliance, legal, audit, project management or financial services 


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree

  • 6+ years of experience leading risk programs, projects, or initiatives across an organization

  • 7+ years experience in compliance, legal, audit, project management or financial services 

  • 8+ years of experience in people management

  • Risk Certification

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

Plano, TX: $212,800 - $242,800 for Sr. Director, Risk Management











Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
