Senior Director, Product Manager

In this role, you will be expected to demonstrate proficiency in five key areas: 

  • Human Centered.You’ll deeply immerse yourself in knowing your internal and/or externalcustomer(s) by employing empathy and design thinking to define broad-scale solutions thatprovide breakthrough leverage. You’ll model adaptability by encouraging continuousevolution to product strategy in light of industry trends, emerging solutions, new insights andchanging customer and business needs 
  • Business Focused.You’ll deeply learn the financial drivers, externalities, and points ofleverage within your domain to identify new products or product enhancements that drivesustainable value for Capital One. You’ll be promote a culture anchored in data, used toinstrument products, validate outcomes, drive insights, and manage the business bothtactically and strategically 
  • Technology Driven. You’ll be responsible for fostering a strong agile discipline and inspiringteams to continuously improve delivery evidenced through key agility metrics. You’ll partnerwith Technology leaders to influence end-state architecture and drive secure, resilient,performant and scalable technology solutions that solve material customer and businessproblems. You’ll govern the responsible and efficient application of technology resources byassessing opportunities for reusing existing solutions, clearly defining minimum viableproducts, and always building with extensibility in mind 
  • Integrated Problem Solving.Develop and champion a bold vision that drives meaningfuloutcomes by embracing the art of the possible. Build frameworks for complex decisionmaking that enable effective debate and accelerate getting to the right answer. 
  • Transformational Leadership.You’ll establish a long-term product portfolio strategy,informed by customer and business needs, and partner with leaders and stakeholders toregularly drive alignment, secure resources and overcome impediments. You’ll attract, grow,empower, and inspire top product talent as they develop and deliver on their local productstrategy in an iterative, outcome-focused and well-managed way 

This Product Leader must have experience building platforms, products and teams from the ground up and leading teams through technology transformation. You have data expertise, platform technology knowledge, and know how to build modern microservices based solutions on cloud at scale. Qualified candidates will have an established record of strategic thought and people leadership. They will have demonstrated their ability to identify and unlock areas of leverage, create stakeholder buy-in and alignment on a shared agenda, and creatively problem solve through impediments to progress. 

We are currently hiring for multiple subject areas:

  • The Card Core Modernization: Power a modernization journey centered on unleashing a new era of customer experience and underwriting innovation at Capital One. You will lead a product team and own the strategy and execution to transform the most critical aspect of our infrastructure. This step in our modernization journey will unlock significant strategic benefits in speed to market, real time data, greater product innovation possibilities and more strategic use of the wealth of data contained in the Card line of business system of record. 

  • Enterprise Products & Experience: We obsess over creating a best-in-class developer experience while ensuring the performance, stability, and health of Capital One's applications. You will lead a product team focused on our modernization & automation transformation, creating innovative products & capabilities to unlock developer productivity and innovation across the Capital One.

  • Passionate & Customer Focus. You care about growing others and bringing them togetheraround what’s possible. You have a desire and ability to connect with our external or internalcustomers to fully understand their needs and build long lasting relationships. 
  • Learner.  You have an appetite to learn new things or new technologies all while exhibitinghumbleness when exploring unknown technologies; you will seek for internal solutionsbefore building new  
  • Team Player.  You enjoy working with diverse people and driving the team toward a commongoal. You are also able to coach others and be a mentor in product development.  

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Intermediate-Advanced English fluency
  • Bachelor’s Degree 
  • At least 8 years of experience in digital product management  

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Engineering 
  • MBA or Master’s degree 
  • 8+ years of experience in Agile product management 
  • 8+ years of experience translating business strategy and analysis into consumer facingdigital products
