To support our innovators, we’ve established The Accelerator, an internal engine of elite problem solvers to help propel our nascent businesses from inception to “ready to scale.” We are now accelerating innovation for both 0-to-1 businesses and the broader enterprise such as Generative AI, International Expansion and External Affairs. Through this engine, we 1) dedicate and empower senior, cross-functional leaders, 2) proactively remove barriers to delivery and innovation, 3) relentlessly create space for innovation, and 4) insulate broader Capital One from zero-to-one entity risks.

The Accelerator is seeking an Engagement Lead to drive the development and delivery of high-priority projects for teams across the enterprise. A strong candidate will have a proven track record of working through white space and strategic decision making, as well as rigorous organizational and analytical skills to track deliverables and measure success of this program. You will work with smart and passionate people to deliver results that have a direct impact on the company’s bottom line. You will take on important and exciting responsibility from day one, working with key stakeholders across the company. We are looking for someone with a passion for building the next generation of products and services, a track record of crushing deadlines, and a hunger to imagine a new way of doing things.

  • You exhibit strong influencing skills and can effectively solve problems and drive for clear decision making - including driving relentlessly for clarity on requirements and desired outcomes

  • You are extremely organized and analytical - ready to support a program with tangible metrics quickly and with little oversight

  • You like using technology to solve problems - whether leveraging technology or building technical tools, you like to innovate and look towards where the industry is going.

What You’ll Own: 

  • Leverage problem solving and influencing skills to drive problem disposition, strategy, planning, and execution of highly complex projects

  • Focus on projects that are part of our key priorities of Capital One’s senior leadership

  • Push the boundary of “how things are done” by leveraging new tools or building new solutions that move the enterprise toward a more efficient and effective destination 

  • Build relationships and collaborate with cross-functional key stakeholders at all levels to understand challenges and drive results

  • Creatively solve problems and think outside of the box to help remove barriers and challenges

  • Create executive-ready presentations and materials

  • Demonstrate a proven track record of excellent strategic problem solving, bringing the ability to quickly put structure in place to manage work in a dynamic complex environment

  • Prioritize work based on established success criteria and timeframes

  • Motivate teams to solve problems and deliver high quality results in a fast-paced, collaborative environment that's geographically dispersed

  • Support the creation of structured milestone tracking through project roadmaps, workstream planning swimlanes, or other tools

  • Help grow The Accelerator’s brand by identifying engagement opportunities 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or military experience

  • At least 8 years of experience in project or program management 

  • At least 5 years of experience supporting or working within technology

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of corporate management consulting experience

  • 3+ years of experience working in a cloud environment

  • 3+ years of Financial Services industry experience

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

McLean, VA: $193,000 - $220,300 for Sr. Manager, Cyber Risk & Analysis


New York, NY: $210,500 - $240,300 for Sr. Manager, Cyber Risk & Analysis


Richmond, VA: $175,500 - $200,300 for Sr. Manager, Cyber Risk & Analysis









Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
