The Capital One Card Top of House Communications & Creative team is responsible for all aspects of the Card business's communications strategy and execution in order to propel business imperatives while promoting and protecting the reputation of Capital One Card. Our purview includes Card-wide communications, channels, and campaigns, as well as a full-service content and creative team that brings the story of Capital One Card to life on internal channels. We are communicators, event planners, project managers, and multimedia experts, and we are all storytellers. As a central team within Card Communications, we are strategic counselors to our partners throughout the Card business.
We are seeking talented individuals to join our growing Card Communications team. This position requires exceptional judgment, an ability to build relationships in a highly matrixed environment, and a sustained focus on delivering results. About the Role:
We’re seeking a natural storyteller and connector to join the Card Communications team who will be responsible for delivering engaging and inclusive communications in support of our Card business strategy. Through a multi-channel approach, you’ll inform and engage associates across the organization, helping them stay connected to our business priorities and feel engaged as part of our inclusive culture. You’ll partner closely with key stakeholders to uncover compelling story ideas, deeply understand our associates’ and leaders’ needs by being insights driven, produce engaging collateral for our internal communication channels, and more.
Key responsibilities:
Lead Card President-level forums, speaking engagements, videos, and messages, including The Quarterly and Card & Partner VP+ meetings. Bring your innovative creativity to help us amplify the President’s voice through these forums with more interactive segments, thoughtful slides and talking points, and best-in-class email communications.
Support the planning, preparation and execution of speaking engagements including intake requests, briefing documents and collateral, post event analysis, etc.
Lead our efforts to build out communication strategies in support of Associate Experience (AX) efforts. Partner closely with the associate experience lead and her team to understand the intent, and translate the intent into best-in-class communications, forums, and touchpoints.
Accountable for developing communications campaigns that deliver on US Card’s associate experience strategy for new and/or large-scale associate experience efforts (i.e./ Activate, Elevate, Geo Strategy, etc.) and cyclical campaigns (i.e./ Promotions, Associate Appreciation Week, Admin Day, etc.)
Develop end-to-end channel plans, audience segmentation, messaging, production & measurement, including post-campaign data
Develop EC level executive messaging in support of Associate Experience initiatives and campaigns
Lead the Creative team to build on, evolve, elevate, and burnish the Card brand architecture to associates
Proactively fuel and populate our communication team’s editorial calendar with engaging collateral of mass relevance to all US Card associates, and measure your performance and impact through analysis of communications metrics.
How you will collaborate with others/your key stakeholders:
Lead Top of House Forums, Speaking/Video engagements, etc. consulting with Chief of Staff team as needed
Partner with the Executive Communications team to deliver cohesive storytelling through our top of house communications channels.
Partner with, present, influence, and sell-through strategies/campaign plans/results to Card and Card Command Center leadership.
Work effectively through project teams and other campaign leads
Consistently report out on progress through compelling data visualizations that reflect our performance as a whole team and drive us towards actionable insights which will power our future.
Consistently check in with other LOB teams to understand best practices, share our own wins, and conduct internal and external research.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree or military experience
At least 6 years of experience in communications, chief of staff, or event and project management
At least 3 years of client facing or consulting experience
At least 3 years experience as a people leader
Preferred Qualifications:
5+ years leading teams of communicators and/or chiefs of staff
5+ years of client facing or consulting experience
Exceptional problem solving and influencing skills
Work experience achieving results with complex projects

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
McLean, VA: $200,700 - $229,100 for Chief of StaffCandidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI).
