As a Senior Business Manager within our Enterprise Data Risk Management team, you will lead the design and execution of our reporting strategies that translate complex risk and control information into clear, compelling stories that inform senior leaders and shape enterprise decisions about our enterprise data ecosystem. You’ll connect the dots across disparate data sources and risk signals to elevate insights, identify patterns, and influence how Capital One thinks about and manages data risk.
General Responsibilities:
Work alongside leadership to develop reporting product intent and strategy that is clear, direct, and drives action.
Build relationships across the lines of defense to design effective reporting strategies to meet the needs of various stakeholders.
Plan and sequence the delivery of new reporting products based on user feedback and evolving data capabilities.
Drive Insight-Driven storytelling, own the development of reporting narratives that go beyond metrics—connecting business context, risk drivers, and emerging trends to generate meaningful insights.
Apply a strategic mindset to translate reporting into recommendations aligned with business goals, risk appetite, and regulatory expectations.
Leverage a strong understanding of how data is created, consumed, and governed across the company to inform reporting relevance and accuracy.
Collaborate with teams in Risk, Enterprise Data, and Divisions and drive alignment on data risk narratives.
Establish a scalable reporting framework that balances automation, visual clarity, and strategic commentary, closely working with Data Analysts within EDRM in execution.
Critically evaluate existing reporting metrics and offer improvements.
Provide direction to junior team members, foster a culture of curiosity and ownership, and influence leaders through clear communication and insight.
Act as a communication ambassador, and enable others to do the same, helping EDRM develop clear and concise decks, written artifacts, templates to improve written products.
Leadership: Although this is an Individual Contributor role, you will coach and mentor associates throughout the organization with a goal of developing and retaining talent at Capital One

Successful track record of thriving in a fast paced, entrepreneurial and dynamic environment. Previous consulting experience is a plus.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in any quantitative field (Business, Math, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Science, Engineering)
At least 2 years of experience in quantitative analysis
At least 2 years of experience in qualitative analysis
At least 1 year of experience in people management
At least 1 year of experience in project management
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in Business or quantitative field such as Finance, Economics, Physical Sciences, Math, Statistics, Engineering
Familiarity with risk frameworks, data governance, or enterprise reporting tools
Understanding of data-driven business and decision processes in the context of financial services
5+ years of experience in data-driven business analysis, risk reporting, or strategy
5+ years of experience in quantitative analysis
5+ years of experience in qualitative analysis
2+ years of experience in people management
2+ years of experience in product development
2+ years of experience in project management
3+ years of experience in analytics or risk management

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
McLean, VA: $193,000 - $220,300 for Sr. Business ManagerCandidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI).
