As a Security Solutions Sr. Associate Engineer in GWS, you’ll be a key contributor to our Security Solutions & Engineering team by maintaining and optimizing system configurations, performing regular system audits, and contributing to life safety initiatives. You will ensure our physical security systems are consistently aligned with industry best practices and enterprise standards, while providing Tier 2 technical support. Collaboration with senior engineers and cross-functional teams will be essential to deliver holistic solutions that serve and safeguard our communities and facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
System Configuration & Management: Maintain and update physical security system configurations using defined procedures to align with enterprise standards and ensure system integrity.
Documentation & Compliance:Produce and maintain accurate, up-to-date documentation for configurations, and procedures. Conduct audits to ensure systems meet enterprise security requirements and compliance standards.
Technical Support & Troubleshooting:Provide comprehensive technical support, serving as a Tier 2 escalation point, diagnosing system faults, performing root-cause analysis, and coordinating Tier 3 and vendor support when needed.
Testing & Reporting:Collaborate with Senior Engineers to implement process optimizations and resolve technical challenges efficiently, ensuring minimal downtime. Document quality assurance measures that support incident response strategies.
Field Engagement & Training:Travel to new sites for security technology commissioning, and to deliver end-user training on security equipment.
Basic Qualifications:
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certification
At least 1 year of hands-on experience in configuring and maintaining physical security systems
At least 3 years of hands-on experience with physical security technologies (intrusion alarm, video surveillance, access control systems) in IT
At least 1 year of experience in providing customer-facing technical support, including troubleshooting and resolving technical issues
At least 1 year of experience in utilizing networking devices and connectivity terminologies: VLANs, TCP/IP, firewalls, VPNs, and cloud technologies
Preferred Qualifications:
1+ year of experience in collaborating across teams in fast-paced, technical environments; and to work self-driven and independently
Certifications in physical security systems, physical security professionals, or related technologies (e.g., Certified Security Systems Technician, AWS, Network+)
1+ year of experience in technical project management and delivery for physical security intrusion alarm, video surveillance, and access control systems in robust IT environments
1+ year of experience with network/ firewall technology, and Cisco switching and routing
1+ year of experience with scripting or automation tools (PowerShell, Python, Google Apps Script) to streamline processes

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
McLean, VA: $86,300 - $98,400 for Senior Security ConsultantCandidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI).
