The world of US Card Acquisitions and Customer Management Platforms is undergoing a major modernization effort. One that will dramatically change how our systems operate, and how we manage these customers from acquisition to account closure.  Modernized systems open a world of new possibilities, everything from how we test new products and populations to how we store documentation so we are always ready to respond to a request from an auditor or regulator.

As a Principle Associate of Project Management at Capital One, you will play a key role in delivering well managed, re-imagined and streamlined intent and processes that impact the company’s bottom line and our customer's lives. You will educate and gain buy-in from key stakeholders including Product, Technology, Legal, and Business partners concerning the utilization of processes to ensure appropriate execution each and every time. You may also lead or engage in critical departmental or cross-functional organizational initiatives and projects.

The successful candidate will have: 

  • Demonstrated that they can improve processes and deliver well managed and scalable solutions and intent resulting in flawless and sustainable execution

  • Ability to effectively communicate and influence partners across the company and across multiple levels of the organization

  • Strong analytical and technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to change quickly

  • A solid grasp of process management concepts and ability to work with Risk, Compliance, and Audit partners

  • Proven ability to work autonomously, and experience working with data and automation tools

  • The ability to be engage in Technology conversations and with a comfort level partnering with Tech in Agile delivery

Responsibilities:

  • Consultation and representation of well managed processes, customer experience, and risk management for new Intent 

  • Support moderate to large complex projects and programs by providing contextual direction as the domain subject matter expert (SME) for operations to effectively partner with Product, Technology, Legal/Compliance, and Segments teams.

  • Support the design, development, and management of project plans in a complex dynamic environment, revising needs to meet changing requirements.

  • Support all aspects, operational and technical, of a domain; ensuring thorough documentation to mitigate future risk and meet regulatory requirements. 

  • Leverage problem solving and judgment skills to ensure project plans deliver on intent

  • Exhibit outstanding relationship building and influencing skills to collaborate and effectively drive project / program efforts

  • Have excellent communication skills which are essential for interacting with key stakeholders at all levels and job families across the company to manage, inform and influence outcomes

  • Champion new delivery models including engaging Product and Tech teams in the creation and delivery of new intent

  • Travel required 25% or less

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent Military experience

  • At least 2 years of project management experience

  • At least 2 years of process management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree or equivalent Military experience

  • 3+ years of experience in Process and Project Management

  • 1+ years of experience with Credit Card lending, Small Business and Commercial lines of business or Retail Partnerships

  • 1+ years of experience with automation tools and techniques 

  • 1+ years experience coding in Python, R, Spark, or SQL

  • Six Sigma certification, BPM certified, or relevant experience

  • Relevant experience with either AWS services, Splunk, and/or Github

How our hybrid model works
This role ishybridmeaning associates typically spend about half their time (2-3 days per week)in-person at one of our offices listed on this job posting.MondayandFridaysare enterprise- widevirtual work days.Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdayare in-person days for associates to spend time together working in our beautifully-designed team areas.
