Manager, Process Manager - Small Business Bank

Capital One’s Small Business Bank (“SBB”) is entering an exciting time of national growth, as we have expanded digital account opening nationwide.  We are looking for a well-rounded Manager of Process Management to lead Operational Efficiency and Well-Managed Initiatives across our large cross-functional teams driving business expansion and marketing. This role will help ensure that our team remains compliant with external regulatory requirements and internal governance standards, while maintaining a great customer experience for our small business clients.

The processes that this individual will help support include:

  • Pricing, policies, and strategic intent for small business deposits products

  • Marketing and servicing campaign execution

  • Managing small business customer experiences within live agent channels (contact center, branches, Capital One cafes)

We are seeking a dedicated, disciplined, process professional who excels in a team environment and is an expert in process improvement. This individual will have demonstrated that they can identify and improve company processes in the past, resulting in saving time and resources for the company. While not a direct people manager role, this individual must be able to effectively partner with and influence a diverse set of stakeholders, including Risk, Legal, Compliance Advisors, Business Analysts, and Project Managers. 

The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills that can flex to different audiences, strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy, and a deep sense of urgency to own and complete deliverables on-time. Prior experience within bank deposits or marketing organizations are a plus to accelerate the understanding of our business. 

General Responsibilities: 

  • Develop and maintain Process Management artifacts (e.g., process maps, FMEA, SIPOC)

  • Drive on-time delivery of internal compliance and governance deliverables (e.g., Business Continuity Plans, Standard Operating Procedures, controls testing)

  • Design and executes strategies and process improvements to help the team increase quality of delivery and consistency in key processes

  • Leverage influence and problem solving skills to ensure processes are designed according to intent while mitigating risk

  • Provide subject matter expertise on processes when representing the department in projects and other meetings

  • Build relationships and collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure delivery of commitments

  • Demonstrate a proven track record of excellent process management and change delivery

  • Showcase the ability to quickly put structure in place to manage team responsibilities in a dynamic and complex environment

  • Exhibit excellent communication and partnership skills, interacting and communicating with key stakeholders at all levels across the company to manage the business effectively

  • Provide subject matter expertise on processes when representing the department in projects and other meetings

Basic Qualifications: 

  • At least 2 years of experience in Process Management 

  • At least 2 years of experience in Project Management 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • Lean certification, Six Sigma certification, or Business Process Management (BPM) certification

  • At least 5 years of experience in Process Management  

  • At least 5 years of experience in Project Management

  • Prior experience in a bank deposits or marketing organization

This role is hybrid meaning associates spend 3 days per week in-person at one of our offices listed on this job posting. Fridays are enterprise- wide virtual work days. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday are in-person days for associates to spend time together working in our beautifully-designed team areas.

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

McLean, VA: $126,700 - $144,600 for Manager, Process Management


Richmond, VA: $115,200 - $131,500 for Manager, Process Management










Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
