Capital One India, we solve fundamental business problems at scale using advanced analytics, data science and machine learning. We specialize in deriving valuable insights about various aspects of the business - including product and process design, consumer behavior, regulatory and credit risk, and much more - from large volumes of data to build cutting edge patentable products at an industrial scale.

We are currently seeking a UX Design Intern to join our team. We are passionate about advocating for user needs and delivering world-class data products that redefine how we serve our customers. As a UX Design Associate at Capital One India you’ll be responsible for leading a highly impactful body of work for our AI & Machine Learning products.  You'll be working with Product, Tech, and Data Science experts to build prototypes and craft a holistic experience, leveraging user research and low-fidelity concept designs early on. You’ll dive into hands-on delivery in collaboration with a group of talented people whose skills span analytics, product, tech, data science, and more. Together, you are building world-class data products that help power our business.

As an early career designer, you are:

  • Customer Obsessed. You are genuinely interested in designing beautiful experiences that impact people’s lives. You make it your business to know as much as you can about the people you are designing for and make design decisions based on their needs.

  • Collaborative. You’re a proactive team player who puts the interest of the team above your own. You will collaborate with business analysts, product managers, developers and design teams on research activities, strategy sessions, ideation, design, and testing of new product concepts.

  • A Storyteller. You’re able to develop clear and persuasive stories about your work that you share with a wide range of audiences, including business partners and stakeholders.  You’re able to present research findings and design concepts to designers and product partners.

  • Detail Oriented. You’re proud that your production files are always pixel perfect and you’ve thought through every permutation of your designs, making the development process smooth sailing.

  • A Master Craftsperson. You push tools like Figma, and Adobe Suite to their extreme. You efficiently use your skill sets to develop new designs within existing visual systems and design languages and you are at the forefront of defining new design patterns.

  • A Successful Juggler. You don’t get overwhelmed or flustered easily. You’re able to keep track of multiple projects at once, manage your time efficiently and communicate scheduling with your manager and the broader team. You know that projects can adjust at the drop of a hat, you are adaptable and welcome change.

  • A Lifelong Learner. You have a hunger to learn about design and different ways of creating great customer experiences. 

What you’ll bring:

  • Portfolio which highlights strong understanding of User Experience Design including (but not limited to): user flows, IA, and translating customer research, analytics, and insights into wireframes and high-fidelity design prototypes

  • Knowledge of human-centered design and UX practices, using a range of methodologies (like design research, collaboration & facilitation, rapid prototyping) to strategically define ideal experiences

  • Ability to quickly conceptualize diverse approaches to solve complex customer & business needs

  • Ability to clearly articulate your design decisions to the larger team

  • Proficiency with current design and collaboration tools (such as Figma, Figjam, Miro etc.)

  • Growth mindset with a desire to learn & improve

Basic Qualifications:

  • Pursuing Master’s degree in fields like M.Des. Information Design, Interaction Design, New Media Design and Strategic Design Management

  • Successful completion of Capital One's campus internship interview

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with conducting user experience research

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and/or prior experience working in technology
