Team Description:
Capital One Software is a new line of business within Capital One that provides software to allow regulated Enterprises to unleash data to safely empower innovation. Capital One Software launched Slingshot, an AI assisted Data warehouse optimization product and Databolt, a data management and protection platform with many more innovations still in progress. Customers want to enable safe use of proprietary data to allow agents and AI models to build differentiated business offerings. Capital One Software is a catalyst for this change and Capital One India is fueling the innovation and next generation of products and services for Capital One Software. Our bold entrepreneurial initiative to build the Data Management and protection platform for an AI first world where data, specifically proprietary and sensitive data, becomes the key enabler for an Enterprise business.

About the Role:

Capital One Software in India is looking for senior product leadership to spearhead our foray into the next generation of Capital One Software in an AI native world. This role involves working backwards from customers, working with product leaders to define the precise problem we are solving, and leading Engineering teams to build impactful products that delight customers. The role encompasses recruiting, developing, and motivating an exceptional team that is drawn from elite campuses in India and abroad, and focused on our mission to develop world class data products.

In this role, you will be expected to demonstrate proficiency in four key areas: 

Human Centered 

• You’ll deeply immerse yourself in knowing your internal and/or external customer(s) needs to reimagine and innovate product solutions. 

• You’ll be challenged to discover customer needs and inspire innovative solutions or products in light of industry trends, emerging technologies and business and customer insights.

Business Focused 

• You’ll be the leader to develop a compelling portfolio or product vision for our organization to deliver capabilities that empower differentiated customer experiences and deliver breakthrough business value. 

• You’ll lead a team that translates vision into strategic product roadmaps with an agile delivery approach in partnership with Tech while managing cyber, operational and/or regulatory risks.

Technology Driven 

• You’ll partner with Technology leaders to influence end state architecture and drive secure, resilient, performant and scalable technology solutions that solve material customer and business problems.

• You’ll be responsible for making technology investments decisions by assessing opportunities for reusing Enterprise solutions or for and building new ones with extensibility & enterprise scalability in mind. 

Transformational Leadership 

• You’ll influence a broad set of senior executives across the enterprise and your organization who are stakeholders or delivery partners to successfully deliver on your portfolio/product vision.

• You’ll establish a long term product portfolio strategy, informed by customer and business needs, to gain alignment, secure resources and overcome impediments. 

• You’ll attract, grow, empower, and inspire top product talent as they develop and deliver on their local product strategy.

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Develop and communicate the product vision and strategy for your area of responsibility.

• Partner with business and technology leadership to align on prioritization of key problems to be solved to maximize business and customer outcomes. 

• Collaborate with teams in India and USA to drive alignment with different teams working on the platform.

• Incorporate design thinking and analytics to inform product design.

• Responsible for a team of directly reporting product managers.

• Maintain a healthy backlog of work and play a critical role in many agile ceremonies.

• Support the team with escalation and resolution of impediments.

• Serve as the connection between customers, Capital One’s mission, and your team.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or Computer Science

• At least 16 years of experience, with a focus on product management across software engineering or machine learning products

• At least 8 years of experience in digital product management 

• At least 5 years of experience in people management 

• At least 5 years of experience leading multiple teams within an agile environment 

• At least 3 years of experience managing other managers including talent development, performance management, team building and succession planning 

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Master’s degree in Information Technology or Computer Science or MBA 

• 8+ years of experience in Agile product management 

• 8+ years of experience translating business strategy and analysis into actionable platforms

• 5+ years of hands on experience guiding the product direction or development of machine learning powered platforms or applications
