Lead Software Engineer

About the team - Software Solutions 

Through Capital One’s journey to cloud, we've developed a suite of internal solutionsuniquely designed to meet the challenges of a digital-first, cloud-first business at scale.We also recognize that many other businesses are facing similar data managementneeds as they accelerate their cloud and data journeys, and are exploring how best tobring some of the tools to the market.

About the role - Lead Software Engineer 

As a Lead Software Engineer, you will:

● Lead innovative solutions to complex technical problems

● Attract talent by living the values and creating an inclusive environment for others tothrive in

● Continuously improve the engineering culture by being engaged in recruitment andparticipating in community activities, conducting training, authoring blog posts, filingpatents etc.

● Contribute to design-level decisions

● Advocate for open source, and internal re-use

● Champion the adoption of enterprise tech standards and architecture patterns

Basic Qualifications 

● Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field 

● Atleast 8 years of professional software engineering experience (internship experience does not apply) 

● Atleast 3 years of experience in building software using at least 1 of the following: Golang, Java, Python, React (TypeScript), Rust, C++ 

● Atleast 3 years of experience with a public cloud (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud) ● 1+ year of experience with Big Data, Data Security, Governance and Controls 

Preferred Qualifications 

● Master's Degree in Computer Science or a related field

● Atleast 10 years of professional software engineering experience (internship experience doesnot apply)

● Atleast 5 years of experience in distributed microservices

● Atleast 5 years of experience in building software using at least 2 of the following: Golang,Java, Python, React (TypeScript), Rust, C++

● Atleast 3 years of experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, or another cloud service

● Atleast 2 years of experience with Big Data, Data Security, Governance and Controls

● Atleast 2 years of experience in Agile practices
