Senior Product Designer

DataLabs is looking for a Senior Product Designer to help conceptualize, prototype & design new & existing data products. You’ll be joining a talented design team in India, and be a part of the 700+ global design team at Capital One.

The ideal candidate has experience working on the end-to-end design process, enjoys making data easier for users to understand, and loves solving complex problems at an enterprise level. Prior experience in B2B/Enterprise product design, design consulting or data visualization is a plus.

You will collaborate with business analysts, product managers, developers and designers on research activities, ideation, design, and testing of new product concepts.

  • Passionate. You are genuinely interested in designing beautiful experiences that impact people’s lives. You make it your business to know as much as you can about the people you are designing for and make design decisions based on their needs.

  • Storyteller. You’re able to develop clear and persuasive stories about your work that you share with a wide range of audiences, including business partners and stakeholders. You’re able to present research findings, and design concepts to designers and product partners.

  • Detail & Craft Oriented. You leverage design systems to create pixel perfect designs and map out edge cases & interaction details. You are passionate about interaction patterns, typography & design as a craft. 

  • Data-enthusiast. You understand how data is collected, analyzed & visualized for decision-making, and can understand how datasets translate to visual elements in the product.

What you’ll bring:

  • Portfolio which highlights strong understanding of User Experience Design including (but not limited to): user flows, IA, and translating customer research, analytics, and insights into wireframes and high-fidelity design prototypes

  • Knowledge of human-centered design and UX practices, using a range of methodologies (like design research, collaboration & facilitation, rapid prototyping) to strategically define ideal experiences

  • Ability to quickly conceptualize diverse approaches to solve complex customer & business needs

  • Understanding of brand guidelines and working within a defined design system as well as contributing to it

  • Ability to work closely with Product Managers to build the right solutions iteratively, and ability to work with Engineers to implement designs

  • Ability to clearly articulate your design decisions to the larger team

  • Understanding of agile development process

  • Proficiency with current design and collaboration tools (Figma, Sketch, Invision, etc.)

  • Growth mindset with a desire to learn & improve

Basic Qualifications:

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design

  • At least 2 years of experience collaborating closely with Product & Engineering teams

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 1 year of experience designing B2B/Enterprise products

  • At least 1 year of experience in conducting UX Research and/or designing data visualization

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in relevant design field
