Capital One Mexico City: Your career, your way
At Capital One Mexico City, the most meaningful work happens when people are physically together. Teams gather around whiteboards, talk through ideas and build impactful solutions for customers. The energy in the office sets the pace for innovation, and the in-person connections make the work more enjoyable for associates.
Personal flexibility helps associates manage the rest of their lives so they can do their best work. Across the office, team members balance school dropoffs, evening poetry classes, quiet focus time at home or even a few treadmill brainstorms.
See how three associates in Mexico City experience that blend of collaboration and flexibility in ways that enable them to thrive.
Building something new, together
When Miriam started as a contract manager, her team was still forming. The early days were full of questions and new decisions, which made being in the office invaluable. She and her manager began on the same day and immediately found themselves at a table sorting through priorities and figuring out how to build a new legal framework.
“It was fun because we had the chance to create together,” she said. “We were all new and shaping something as a team.”
Sharing space with her colleagues helps her pick up context faster and blend her background in Mexican law with the tech-focused work happening across the company. The collaboration gives her the confidence to navigate complex contracting decisions.
At the same time, personal flexibility enables her to maintain the fast-pace without losing herself to long hours, a challenge she experienced in the past. After work, she heads to the pool, hops on her bike or finds a creative outlet in her poetry class.
“I show up for my team with energy and focus,” she said. “I don’t have to sacrifice my wellbeing to succeed.”

Collaboration that creates progress
For Rodolfo, collaboration is the part of his job he values most. As a third party management manager, he connects with people across Capital One every day. Being in the office makes that easier and much faster. When he needs clarity, he can simply turn to a teammate, walk down the hall or pop into a conference room.
“If I need something, my coworker is right there to answer,” he said. “Or I can get help from a team leader right away.”
Those small moments add up. They also help him build relationships that make problem-solving smoother and strengthen the sense of community he feels in the office. A quick chat over coffee or a check-in between meetings can shift the tone of an entire day.
For work requiring deep concentration, he uses focus spaces in the office. He reserves occasional work-from-home days for tasks that benefit from walking on his treadmill, such as talking or thinking through complex issues. That balance helps him stay present at work and at home with his family.
“This company makes sure I’m doing my best in my job and in my life,” he said.

Growing a tech culture from day one
When Mario, a manager in software engineering, first joined, the engineering team was just getting off the ground, and most of the office was still empty. He started on the same day as another engineer, and it wasn’t until they started chatting after onboarding that they realized they were part of the same team. They bonded quickly, and the team kept growing from there.
“Every time I check, the team keeps growing,” he said. “It already feels like a strong community.”
The collaborative environment helps engineers like Mario share approaches, test ideas and build better systems together. Being in-person gives Mario the chance to learn from other associates and solve problems more quickly.
Before Capital One, he juggled teaching, data science work and long hours that made it hard to be present with his son. Now, after a day of collaborating in the office, he heads out to pick up his seven-year-old from school. They spend afternoons building cities in Minecraft or racing each other in Mario Kart.
“I can focus more deeply and stay calm under pressure,” he said. “Because I know I have the space to be present at home.”

Enabled to thrive
The conversations, shared space and buzz of the Capital One Mexico City office help innovation happen quickly and creatively—and flexibility makes it possible for associates to thrive while contributing to the culture. For Miriam, Rodolfo and Mario, that combination has shaped careers that feel meaningful and lives that feel full.
