Helpful advice for starting a career in AI
Prem Natarajan, chief scientist and head of Enterprise AI, wants people to know that AI will transform lives, and with it, empower associates at Capital One to do things they couldn’t do before.
With so many positions touching the technology, we are now in a world where there’s not one career path for breaking into a career in AI. Instead, Prem recommends identifying your passion and examining how AI can enrich your pursuit of it.
What does that look like? If you're an educator, talk to experts and identify ways AI can be a leveler that helps improve outcomes for all students. If your passion is journalism, creating novel content, growing a business or advancing medicine, think about how to responsibly harness the power and advances of AI to accelerate that passion.
“In this new phase we’re entering, it’s important to stay true to your passions, to what energizes you, while remaining open to learning, even actively seeking to learn,” Prem said. “Work to deliver something better for the world.”
