Scrum Master, Principal Associate

This position is an exciting opportunity within the Retail & Direct Bank. This role, within the Performance Marketing team within MAD (Marketing, Analytics, Design) MX, will be the lead scrum master for a cross-functional team (value stream) working in an agile environment to develop and execute marketing campaigns driving deposit growth with our savings products. In the Scrum Master role, you'll serve as the servant leader for your team(s) by ensuring clear communication and helping the team reach its requirements. The Scrum Master will drive the appropriate Agile methodology focused on predictable, quality delivery and driving continuous improvement of the team. The Scrum Master will facilitate team productivity by removing impediments that may obstruct the pursuit of the team's requirements and by preserving flexibility and ability to rapidly respond to changes on the team.

General Responsibilities:

  • Works with team and key stakeholders to enable a results-oriented team environment, fostering trust, communication, innovation, dependability, collective ownership, transparency, and a sense of urgency

  • Leads team in creating roadmaps at the team level, including identifying dependencies, risks, possible impediments, resource issues and bottlenecks

  • Applies facilitation and dependency management techniques to drive delivery through planning, collaboration, and coordination

  • Facilitates story / epic level backlog refinement and prioritization

  • Ensures impediments are visible, escalated, and tracked through to resolution

  • Identifies and facilitates opportunities to drive prioritization conversations within the team and with partner groups

  • Leverages Productivity Tools (JIRA, Portfolio, Confluence, Slack, etc.) to influence better ways to radiate team information and identify improvement opportunities

  • Understands the Technical Architecture and/or scope of lane work to be able to speak the team’s language and understand their work in order to ask relevant questions and identify opportunities for improvement and/or potential impediments

  • Understands and uses individual / team coaching tools to encourage a positive team environment, experimentation and continuous improvement

  • Optimizes strategic flow of delivery across business and technology by identifying opportunities for continuous improvement with measurable outcomes

  • Fosters and champions an Agile delivery framework and culture through coaching and training on Agile practices, tools, collaboration, and communication

  • Developing ability to help onboard or act as a mentor to a Scrum Master with less experience

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree 

  • At least 3 years of Agile experience

  • At least 3 years Scrum Master experience

  • At least 4 years of Project Management experience 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Scrum Master experience

  • 1+ years of experience with Digital Marketing, CRM, or Digital Commerce

  • 1+ years of experience with Marketing Automation: Salesforce Marketing Cloud or Adobe Marketing Cloud

  • 1+ years of experience with Marketing Campaign Management: Adobe Campaign or Unica Campaign 

  • Scrum Alliance CSM or CSP certification or PMI’s Agile Certified Professional (ACP)

  • PMP, Lean, Agile or Six Sigma certification
