We're doing amazing things across Market Channels and Retail Operations (C&O) and continue to make progress on our Banking Reimagined strategy—we're offering our Customers compelling, unassailable products (360 is everywhere!), we're creating a differentiated digital experience (top-rated app, amazing Ambassador tools such as APEX), we're progressing on our location strategy (we now have 44 Cafés across the country!), our Ambassadors are delivering our brand experience across the footprint regardless of whether a Customer is in a Branch or Café (they’re here to assist and support our Customers and Communities—NOT sell), and we're telling our story to the nation (Jeremy has become a household name).
We, the Media Team, provide simple, compelling, engaging communications and multimedia experiences, and resources that empower our Branch and Café Ambassadors with the knowledge they need to help our Customers succeed. We do this with dedication to the Ambassador, creation of a consistent and legendary Customer experience, well-managed curation, and inclusive sharing of knowledge so Ambassadors feel supported, connected and included. We’ve spent the entirety of 2021 delivering on timely and critical communications to support Branch and Café Ambassadors in navigating the changing environment, while also using metric-based analysis and empathy research to streamline processes and optimize our communications channels and multimedia experiences to meet the needs of Ambassadors and Leaders, as well as market our channels and the Media Team brand. In 2022, we’re expanding our communications channels and resources offerings to support the Private Banking Team in the same spirit of collaboration, style, grace, and above all, FUN!
As a Digital Designer and Storyteller, you’ll be part of a smart, creative and talented team responsible for bringing narratives to life in multimedia and crafting and writing effective narratives that inform, compel and deliver excellence to our Private Bankers and Ambassadors. You’ll play a key role in delivering rich multimedia experiences to engage, support and connect with Ambassadors and Private Bankers day to day via video, web, graphic design and branding, UI/UX design, and/or creative consultation. In this position, you’ll contribute immediately through web design, development and support, including the 2021 migration of all our web pages from the Jive platform to LumApps; graphic design and branding projects; and producing, directing and editing videos for our weekly video production Reel Moments (previously MX Moments), all while strengthening your collaboration and influencing best practices.
We’re seeking a creative, articulate, dedicated, disciplined, thoughtful multimedia professional who excels in a team environment. This person will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to change quickly. The ability to influence across and up is key to success in this position, as you’ll be collaborating with various partners across all of Retail Bank on a day-to-day basis. The ideal candidate is a master of their craft, a versatile designer and multimedia storyteller who is highly proficient technically and fully embraces the digital mindset. The candidate will also have a portfolio of at least five samples of their multimedia work for review to show you can create equally compelling and effective web experiences, logos, and graphics, as well as video productions. You’ve got a strong portfolio in graphic design that shows how you’re always on the cutting edge of new design trends and are a master at producing striking, effective graphic designs that are fresh, impactful and on-brand.
You’re astute in video production, filming and editing techniques and know how to bring a story to life beyond the standard interview style videos. You excel at telling stories in a clear, concise and creative way using formats like Instagram- and TikTok-style videos, commercial, marketing and promotional videos, and event recaps/story videos.
You’re an idea incubator who enjoys ideating with others and chasing leads for great stories to tell and news to share. You empower and inspire other designers on the team by sharing your work and seeking feedback, recognizing collaboration and feedback help make a product even better and stimulate more ideas.
You thrive on juggling multiple deliverables while delivering great results. You’re self-organized, efficient and well-managed, so you can focus the majority of your time and energy on your craft.

Your day-to-day may look like:
Designing, developing and maintaining intranet sites and graphic assets applying Capital One and C&O brand standards across all projects to ensure high-quality production value
Creating visual layouts for internal Pulse pages, e.g. wireframes
Creating digital and visual assets such as logos, banners, Google Slides templates, etc.
Supporting video production and execution leveraging well-managed tools
Working with clients to establish video intent and storyline
Writing creative briefs, scripts, storyboards
Organizing the production
Partnering with external film crews and editors
Serving as a multimedia generalist supporting design needs across channels and platforms
Providing direction conceptually for design and aesthetic approach for outputs
Lending design skills to miscellaneous design projects as assigned, including email layout, event invites, etc.
Collaborating with internal stakeholders and subject matter experts, copywriters, project owners to create stories through digital methods
Working in tandem with other designers and copywriters for multi-channel/platform projects and deliverables
Managing updates/additions to web content throughout the lifecycle of a project: working closely with the content team and department stakeholders
Participating in and employing Agile practices, as well as good organization, time management and communication skills
High School Diploma, GED, or Equivalent Certification
At least 3 years experience in Adobe Creative Cloud programs; including but not limited to Photoshop and Illustrator
At least 1 year of experience in video production and editing in Adobe Premiere
At least 1 year of experience with GSuite
At least 1 year of experience in UI/UX design
Bachelor's in Computer Science, Web Design, Graphic Design or related field
At least 5 years of work experience in web, logo, and graphic design
At least 3 years of work experience in video production and editing in Adobe Premiere
At least 3 years experience with GSuite
At least 3 years of experience in UI/UX design
At least 1 year of experience developing web pages in LumApps
At least 1 year of experience formatting and laying out online articles
At least 1 year of experience building designs/templates for Slides presentations
At least 1 year of experience working with Agile methodologies
