About the team

Our Talent Brand & Marketing team is looking for a research and insights strategist to drive the creation and delivery of a multi-year research roadmap that will help us deeply understand job seekers and potential candidates—think career-related insights and job choice motivators, as well as the journey from interest, to apply and ultimately accept, and more. We’re looking for a talented teammate to help shape our ongoing measurement of Capital One’s talent brand awareness and perception as we aim to become an employer of choice. This new and unique role will be responsible for developing and executing a strategy, in partnership with key stakeholders, that organizes and leverages existing research, leads the development of new research insights and metrics, as well as packages insights for key audiences, all with the goal of helping deliver on our vision.

  • A strategic thinker who can understand and help shape intent, build a comprehensive roadmap, and deliver research plans & reports that promote candidate empathy and understanding, as well as actionable insights to improve our marketing strategies and storytelling 

  • An experienced storyteller who can think like a designer, a marketer and a business leader when structuring qualitative and quantitative research techniques to deliver on a shared vision

  • A trusted partner for diverse team of subject matter experts committed to driving results that meaningfully impact our long-term marketing strategies, while also being a research leader and agenda owner on our team, upskilling and sharing knowledge with peers

  • A passionate researcher with demonstrated experience scoping, executing, and synthesizing actionable research, complete with an insatiable curiosity for understanding people and what motivates them 

  • An exceptional communicator with strategic influencing skills and the ability to drive agreement through powerful storytelling. Ability to effectively summarize analysis for an executive audience is essential.

  • You’re well-balanced and strategic in relying on qualitative and quantitative factors in decision making

  • You’re capable of analyzing and extracting key, relevant insights from a large amount of data, and  then organizing and presenting concepts and conclusions in an impactful and compelling way

  • And you’re human-centered to the core, with a solid understanding for business and technology disciplines and perspectives

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience

  • At least 3 years of experience in research using both quantitative and qualitative methodologies

  • At least 1 year experience in analysis using Excel, Google Sheets, Tableau, QResearch OR SPSS

  • At least 2 years of experience building presentations and reports in PowerPoint OR Google Slides

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Sociology, Consumer Behavior, Market Research or Economics

  • Hands on experience with behavioral-based, decision-making research

  • At least 2 years on an insights team for a marketing, product, or design organization
