Principal Project Manager


  • We are looking for a talented project manager to join our specialized Delivery Team and serve as both the Joining Capital One Experience Release Train Engineer (RTE) and Project Manager for horizontal special projects 

  • The Talent Acquisition Shared Services (TASS) organization was created to streamline Talent Acquisition Operations, Talent Marketing and other horizontal, transformational initiatives across the entire Talent Acquisition (TA) organization. The broader team’s mission is to mobilize on critical initiatives for clients and partners and position the TA organization to simplify how we work and deliver on the moments that matter most for candidates 

  • As the Joining Experience RTE, this individual will be responsible for maintaining and continually improving our Agile infrastructure to enable delivery of short and long term initiatives within the Joining Capital One Experience

  • As a Project Manager, this individual will assist in managing various horizontal initiatives and special projects impacting TASS, the Talent Acquisition team, and broader Enterprise HR organization

General Responsibilities

  • Agile Delivery Lead (RTE): Serve as a horizontal RTE for 8 different Objectives or “Pods” within the Joining Capital One Experience to connect dots across the experience and manage agile responsibilities, including management of risks, status reporting, continuous improvement, contingency planning, agile ceremony facilitation, scrum master engagement, impediment resolution, logistic coordination, quarterly planning sessions, etc.

  • Project Manager: Responsible for various project management activities, including deck building efforts, meeting cadence coordination, meeting deadlines, and coordinating work across various stakeholders in short-term, high-stakes settings

  • Proactively identifies impediments and appropriately resolves using network of peers and formal channels (including escalation)

  • Ability to onboard and act as a mentor to a Scrum Masters within the Joining Experience and coach the team and other scrum masters to improve collaboration and self-organization

  • Utilizes Experience feedback and metrics (quality, delivery rate, etc) to identify areas of opportunity and works with team to continuously improve

  • Actively seeks and participates in a variety of learning opportunities such as Communities of Practice, conferences, classroom training and independent study to further develop self and community

  • Comfortable and proven ability to influence and communicate with peers and leadership through differentiated relationship building 

  • Ability to operate autonomously

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience

  • At least 2 years of Project Management or Process Management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience as part of an Agile team

  • At least 2 years of experience with Agile Management Solutions (i.e. JIRA, VersionOne, or Rally)

  • Scrum Alliance CSM or CSP certification or PMI’s Agile Certified Professional (ACP), PMP, Lean certification or Six Sigma certification, ,SAFe certified or experience (or other scaled agile frameworks)

  • Proficiency with Google Suite
