Capital One’s Message Optimization team is recruiting a Manager, Product Management for A/B Testing - a laboratory that ensures every message we send is tested to perfection for our customers. Our scalable, self-service testing platform will empower internal clients across the enterprise to regularly test their messages and improve the quality of the content we send customers.
As the product manager for our testing platform, this Manager will own every step of the product development lifecycle for the testing platform: gathering requirements and user stories, developing features, partnering with an Agile development team, removing roadblocks, and roadmapping the platform’s evolution to grow adoption across the enterprise. Our ideal candidate will have a history of successful product development and a background in scaling platforms; a familiarity with and passion for A/B testing is also helpful.
Key job functions include:
Product Management: Own the product lifecycle of our testing platform from ideation, to MVP, to feature pivots/builds/kills, to achieving target state. Seek rapid and regular client feedback during development to ensure our platform exceeds their stated and unstated needs. Evangelize product adoption throughout Capital One. Display continual curiosity about testing products by always looking for new ways to expand platform functionality.
Design Thinking: Evolve and improve the platform by defining, framing, and solving ambiguous problems for your customers. Conduct workshops and whiteboarding sessions to discover new features to build. Deeply understand your customer’s changing needs through empathy interviews and rapid prototyping.
Communication: Document ambitious roadmaps and beat them. Define and report on key delivery and value metrics in regular written and in-person communications. Provide executive-level presentations to senior leaders. Be the subject matter expert on your product.
Our ideal Manager will:
Have a background developing scalable platform products
Have a background in A/B testing products
Have experience working in an agile environment with a lot of ambiguity
Be comfortable establishing relationships across levels within organizations, including senior leadership interactions
Exhibit strong analytical, interpersonal, collaboration, communication (written, verbal, and technical), presentation, negotiation, influence, and problem-solving skills

Bachelor’s Degree or military experience
At least 3 years of experience in digital product management

2+ years of experience in A/B testing
