Senior Manager- Finance
Sr. Manager, Financial Planning and Analysis
Capital One Canada is seeking a Senior Manager, Financial Planning and Analysis, to provide strategic advice and counsel to senior business leaders, support our business in its financial needs and be a catalyst for change. You'll lead and build a team of top talent to bring accuracy, transparency and insights to senior management with the goal of influencing the strategic direction of the business. You’ll be committed to driving returns and operating efficiency while balancing the need to put the customer first. You'll do it all in a fast paced, collaborative environment that values your insight, appreciates your open possibilities mindset, encourages you to take on new responsibility, think differently and promotes continuous learning.
Member of the Customer Experience leadership team and accountable for all related financial planning and management reporting responsibilities
Accountable for the Investment Governance Committee and driving strategic conversations with senior leadership regarding Capital One Canada’s investment agenda
Inspiring and leading a talented team (5 direct reports)
Development of new financial modelling and reporting packages to bring greater transparency to business partners for the sake of leading to better strategic investment decisions
Ongoing management, monitoring and tracking of financial targets and committed initiatives to ensure budget expectations are met
Driving continuous improvements to make reporting and planning processes as efficient as possible and divert excess capacity to insightful analysis for internal customers
Reporting directly to the CFO, the successful candidate will be required to work closely with business leaders and contribute to senior management decisions. The individual must have superior interpersonal skills building sound relationships with business partners and be comfortable communicating to and influencing senior executive audiences.
The ideal candidate will possess:
Strong leadership and people management skills to inspire, lead, coach and develop a team of top talent
High energy level with an open possibilities mindset and is proactive in anticipating demands from business partners and identifying areas of opportunity for process improvements
Demonstrated judgment, influence, leadership, strategic thinking
Cost governance and expense management experience
Be able to work independently via strong analytical and problem solving skills while leveraging good judgment and initiative to effectively prioritize team responsibilities
The ability to manage multiple tasks within tight deadlines on an ongoing basis
A High degree of flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and demands of business partners
The ability to create an environment that fosters innovation and automation
Bachelor’s Degree in Business
MBA, CFA or CPA designation
At least 8 years of Financial Analysis Managerial experience in a financial services organization
At least 8 years of people management experience
Financial services industry experience
Proficient in Smartview/Hyperion
