Investigating all inquiries and complaints in an impartial and independent manner
Responding to escalated complaints and to requests from OBSI
Providing monthly status reports to important stakeholders and preparation of annual reports
Identifying critical issues to senior management and making recommendations to address the issues
Participating in industry ombudsman meetings, and hosting such meetings on a rotational basis
Lawyer in good standing with a Canadian Law Society, with 7 years minimum of post-call experience from a major law firm or in-house counsel role
Strong business acumen, ADR and advocacy skills
Strong drafting and communication skills
Knowledge of Canada’s both legal system
The ability to work in French is a strong asset
