Diversity and Inclusion Manager

You will report directly to the Head of Talent and lead as their “right hand” on all D&I-related initiatives. We’re seeking candidates whose education, perspectives, and experience enable them to provide on-the-ground vision, leadership and counsel on matters of diversity and inclusion, collaborate across functions to create a welcoming and respectful environment that embraces diversity as a dimension of excellence, and promotes a culture of openness and inclusion.

The Diversity & Inclusion Lead will partner with Capital One’s leadership team and the AE for Diversity and Inclusion to develop and implement capital One’s diversity and inclusion strategy.

In this D&I role you will not only be responsible for helping to realize the goals put forward in Capital One’s existing diversity and inclusion strategy, but also for infusing new ideas into future strategies.   

The strategy will foster inclusive leadership; unlock collaboration and innovation; eliminate hidden barriers to success; and empower the firm to attract, retain and advance top talent from underrepresented backgrounds. The end goal is a highly diverse and fully inclusive organization  

Expert knowledge of the principles of employment equity, diversity and inclusion. The D&I lead will partner with key HR Partners to develop, review and implement our 3 year employment equity plan, develop communications and plan training and they will monitor and report on progress to senior leadership.

The incumbent fosters relationships with stakeholders, provides guidance and expertise in promoting a positive working and learning culture that values diversity and fosters equity, fairness, respect, cross-cultural understanding and inclusion.

Required Qualifications •

• Experience in designing and implementing diversity and inclusion programs; • Demonstrated competence in leveraging HR analytics to provide evidence based guidance and advice;

• Familiarity with human resources principles and practices

• The ability to multitask and to project manage initiatives to completion;

• Expert knowledge on diversity and inclusion best practices and programs • Respect for a strict code of confidentiality

• Effective communicator with the ability to foster and promote cooperation and work collaboratively within and across all sites while promoting a diverse work environment.

Desired Qualifications-

Minimum of a (4) four-year degree in Human Resources or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience;

• Minimum of (9) nine-years’ experience in Human Resources, with several years performing diversity and inclusion work;
