Capital One’s Card Risk organization is responsible for core areas that span Strategy, Operations, Technology, Analytics and Risk Management. This organization leads, advises and innovates on top transformational initiatives across the Card business. Specifically, the Process Excellence Team within Card Risk is leading a multi-year transformational Well Managed journey focusing on:
- Enabling Ownership and Accountability - working closing with all Card business areas to enable better business results through process, risk and control capabilities and insights
- Enhancing Transparency - providing clear, end-to-end “single view of the truth” for leaders to enable sound decision-making
- Driving Simplicity - integrating related work to reduce noise and focus on the most critical and effective elements of our risk and control ecosystem
- Promoting Automation - advancing the journey to reduce manual processes, enhance monitoring techniques and seizing the power of data
The Card Risk Process Excellence Team is currently hiring for a Senior Manager that will take our Well Managed transformation to the next level, furthering the top-notch brand that Card Risk has built. Core capabilities for this innovative, transformational role include a strong strategic mindset with core program and risk management expertise coupled with a balanced approach to driving effectiveness and efficiency to enhance both business and risk management processes and programs.
This Senior Manager will be responsible for driving broad, complex Well Managed initiatives associated with process, risk and controls. As a key member of the Well Managed Program, this role will collaborate with smart and passionate leaders to influence results that have a direct impact on the company’s bottom line. This is a critical role with high visibility across the Card organization, partner divisions, and second and third lines across the enterprise.
This role requires the ability to lead teams both directly and indirectly to deliver high-quality value, to exhibit great judgment in solving challenging problems, and to leverage deep and broad subject matter expertise to provide risk consultation on growth initiatives. This role requires a well-rounded and seasoned individual who is comfortable adjusting their approach to meet unique needs across multiple stakeholder groups within a complex organization. Successful candidates will demonstrate a proven track record of project and program delivery; change resiliency to maintain momentum in a dynamic, fast-paced and complex environment and among competing priorities; and strong partnership and communication skills to engage and influence critical stakeholders. This role is ideal for someone with strong leadership skills, who is capable of driving transformational change and delivering game-changing value. The preferred candidate will have experience working in Compliance and/or Risk Management organizations within a major financial company, with a solid understanding of process management frameworks, risk and control methodology, and regulatory requirement management and applicability.
Responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to:
Serving as a people leader for a team of 2-4 associates and multiple non-associates
Designing, developing, and autonomously driving the program to deliver annual Card Integrated Process Assessments
Furthering the Well Managed agenda within Card to promote automation, drive simplicity, enhance transparency, and enable ownership & accountability
Providing process, risk and control consultation on growth initiatives, such as new ventures and new or changing operations
Partnering cross-functionally with program customers to provide strategic and tactical thought-partnership to effectively drive delivery
Providing strategic direction to project teams, peers, and stakeholders to drive results, solve problems, and influence outcomes
Building relationships and collaborating with key stakeholders
Bachelor’s Degree or at least 5 years of Project Management experience
3+ years of Corporate Management Consulting experience
3+ years of Financial Services industry experience
3+ years of People Management experience
5+ years of Compliance or Risk Management experience
6+ years of Project Management experience
Masters / MBA Degree
Lean, Agile or Six Sigma certification
