The Core platform is the central nervous system of the entire Capital One Card ecosystem touching nearly every aspect of the Credit Card lifecycle. The Core platform supports and plays an essential role in creating and delivering an industry leading customer experience for the nearly 90M active credit card customers within Capital One’s Card portfolio today.
The Capital One Card Core Platform Team is looking for an exceptional Senior Product Manager who will help define and execute our Core platform modernization strategy:
Specific Areas of Focus:
Take a customer back approach and leverage the support of architecture and technology partners, to define the strategy to modernize credit card account data within a new Card Core Abstraction Layer and redefine how financial Core data is produced and consumed throughout the entire Card Enterprise
Deeply invest to understand the breadth of account data consumption today and partner with an extensive list of consuming clients/platforms to define the future state API strategy/scope to facilitate the consumption of modernized account data
Partnering with technology peers, define the scope and intent for all net new product based APIs backed by modern technology patterns to be used in servicing Core account data for the coming years
Be accountable for leading 4 engineering teams in support of the modernization effort
Empower a team of Product Owners to define compelling backlogs and roadmaps clearly informing the delivery approach to fulfil the account modernization product vision
Successfully influence an extensive list of consumers to drive adoption of the new modernized services and APIs to enable the deprecation of legacy services
Envision new tooling and patterns to make client adoption Easy and deliver on the aggressive adoption agenda
Effectively communicate the product vision, strategy and tactical outlook to senior leaders
General areas of responsibility:
You will be involved in shaping and contributing to the overall Card customer experience and enablement of Capital One’s platform ecosystem by seeking and applying insights from dependent platforms, apps, and segments - moving from concepts to prototypes and prototypes to scalable solutions.
You will develop hypotheses, build MVPs, and run pilots determining product, feature, and capability fit and value.
You will be a part of overall thought leadership around platform development at the intersection of data+design+tech = for the sake of creating meaningful, measurable business and customer value.
You will collaborate with an extended team beyond the card platform organization
You will lead a team of product owners who will work hand-in-hand with development teams that are your solutioning and delivery partners for bringing the roadmap to life and value to fruition.
You have the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously
Bachelor’s Degree or military experience
At least 5 years of experience in digital product management
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Engineering
MBA or Master’s degree
3+ years of experience in Agile product management
3 + years of experience translating business strategy and analysis into consumer facing digital products
