Senior Software Engineer

 Capital One is actively seeking experienced Software Developers with expertise in technical design and development of applications using existing and emerging technology platforms. Successful candidates will have hands-on experience with building applications / scripts that consume APIs exposed by cloud providers. As a Capital One Senior Associate Software Engineer, you'll work on everything from customer-facing web and mobile applications using cutting-edge open source frameworks, to highly-available RESTful services. This project will entail backend programming of APIs relating to Capital One's Content Management & Collaborations Applications.



  • Support DEV/QA testing, and owning implementation to production

  • Design and implement application frameworks, APIs, libraries and services that perform at scale using existing and emerging technology platforms.

  • Hands on developer, design, code, and test complex distributed systems, integrations and protocols.

  • Continuously improve software engineering practices

  • Work within and across Agile teams to lead design discussions

  • Directly and independently work with business partners and other tech teams.

  • Bring a passion to stay on top of tech trends, experiment with and learn new technologies, participate in internal & external technology communities.

  • Encourage innovation, implementation of cutting-edge technologies, inclusion, outside-of-the-box thinking, teamwork and self-managed.

  • Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills, which are necessary due to the dynamic nature of collaboration with customers, vendors, and other engineering teams.



Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Military Experience

  • At least 2 years of experience with software development coding

  • At least 2 years of experience developing & consuming RESTful web services

  • At least 2 years of experience writing Python, JavaScript (Angular JS and React JS)


Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of experience in Cloud technologies such as Google Cloud, AWS or Azure

  • 1+ years of experience with version control solutions such as GitHub

  • 1+ years of experience in creating cloud resources using PowerShell, Terraform or CLI

  • 1+ years of experience with NoSQL database

  • 1+ years working with DocuSign / Envision
