The Search Engine Marketing (SEM) team is a collaborative, cross-functional, Agile digital marketing team that produces powerful business results and garners insights fueling cross-channel online marketing strategy. We are seeking an intelligent and strategically-minded individual who is ready to develop, execute, analyze, and optimize value-creating marketing agendas to acquire as many new customers as possible. The ideal candidate has experience working with or a passion for learning about digital marketing platforms and strategies and is an experienced people leader. A collaborative, team-focused spirit is a must.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Strategic Planning: Develop business strategies that will drive growth, profitability, and competitive success for Capital One’s Paid Search channel in the face of shifting consumer and regulatory behavior as well as massive technological advancement. Develop a cohesive, integrated, results-focused, and learning-forward agenda across multiple workstreams.
Business Ownership and Growth-Minded Results-Focus: Have an ownership mindset, and accountability for a subset of the channel’s P&L impact. Oversee multiple projects and areas of focus concurrently and display an intense focus on achieving both short and long term goals within each one. Leverage relevant data and frameworks to make challenging prioritization trade-offs.
Leadership: Ability to build and leverage the capabilities of a high-performing team, as well as partners across the enterprise. This individual will manage and develop a cross-functional team of 3-4 analysts, brand associates, and operational experts. Expected to coach and mentor both direct-report and dotted-line associates with a goal of developing and retaining talent at Capital One.
Credit risk and well-managed mindset: Create thoughtful, sustainable, risk-focused frameworks for testing, monitoring, and day-to-day channel management. Support process and credit governance improvements with a focus on balancing efficiency, sustainability, scaling, and appropriate management.
Data familiarity: Be comfortable understanding, leveraging, connecting, and improving various sources of marketing data in collaboration with data architects, engineers, and scientists.
Partnership and teamwork: Work closely with colleagues across Capital One in all functions to ensure most cohesive solutions possible.
Analytic orientation: A proven track record of decision making and problem solving based on analytics. Ability to synthesize and leverage both qualitative and quantitative data from both internal and external data sources.
Strong communication skills: Impeccable written and oral communication credentials, coupled with strategic influencing skills, and the ability to drive agreement across a diverse subset of stakeholders.
Bachelor’s Degree in any quantitative field (Business, Math, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Science, Engineering)
At least 2 years of experience in quantitative and qualitative analysis
At least 1 year of experience in people management
At least 1 year of experience in project management
5+ years of experience in quantitative and qualitative analysis
2+ years of experience in people management
2+ years of experience in project management
1+ years of experience in product development
Position open to Richmond or McLean, Richmond preferred. McLean-based candidates should be willing to travel to Richmond on a regular basis
