The Legal Department’s Litigation & Employment Team is seeking a dynamic leader who will be responsible for leading the Litigation Operations team and assisting with Chief of Staff responsibilities. No legal expertise is required for this role.
The Litigation & Employment team consists of approximately 100 talented legal professionals who apply their expertise to solve legal problems and help Capital One win. The team manages litigation matters, advises on litigation and employment risks, and executes on all subpoenas served on Capital One. The Litigation Operations team is at the center of the Litigation & Employment team. The Litigation Operations team executes high-impact, high-visibility, centralized functions such as reporting to numerous internal and external stakeholders (e.g., regulators, Board of Directors, external auditors, business partners), system of record management and design, data analysis and quality, critical business process management, governance, well-managed initiatives, and strategic projects to continuously improve the work we do and how we do it. We work to drive efficiencies, collaboration, innovation, and provide outsized value across the organization.
In this role, you will lead the Litigation Operations team, which consists of four individuals. You will be responsible for setting the vision for the team and leading them to execute on impactful goals. You will be a critical connection point between the individual litigation teams, the litigation leadership team, and key stakeholders. In addition to leading the operations team, the individual in this role will also assist with Chief of Staff duties such as communications and team management for the broader Litigation & Employment team. This role will report to the Chief of Staff for the Senior Vice President, Chief Litigation Counsel.

The Senior Manager will be responsible for:
Leading an operations team, including setting vision, mission, team goals, and creating collaborative, inclusive, and innovative culture
Primarily overseeing, but also performing, aspects of system management and design, data analysis and quality, designing and executing reporting, team governance, well-managed initiatives, information management and security, and process and project management
Assisting with team management of 100+ person team, including communications, staffing, training, development, engagement, and budget
Assisting with executive support and team culture
Assisting with team communication strategy and execution, including writing team communications, setting agendas for team meetings, and building supporting decks
Building relationships and collaborating with cross-functional key stakeholders internally and externally
Leading continuous improvement of processes and business practices, with a high bar for excellence
Flexing into opportunities as needed to lead execution of special projects
Developing relationships with direct and extended team members to be able to act as an informed and helpful sounding board and thought partner
Bachelor’s Degree or military experience
At least 5 years of project management, process management, or chief of staff experience
At least 5 years of analysis, strategy, or communications experience
People management and leadership experience
Project or process management certifications
