We are seeking Back End Software Engineers who are passionate about marrying data with emerging technologies. As a Capital One Software Engineer, you’ll have the opportunity to be on the forefront of driving a major transformation within Capital One.
What You’ll Do:
You will be the technical point person for 8 agile software development teams building and enhancing a modern custom case management platform for use by all Lines of Business across Capital One.
This platform has been built from the ground up (recently) using Spring Boot microservices and various open source software to meet the business needs of various groups across Capital One
You will be expected to be a best practices expert, constantly evaluating code bases and driving us toward the practices necessary to continuously improve our world class platform and the development practices we use to maintain and enhance it.
This role is a combination of ‘in the code’ contribution, expertise and guidance across the teams that run and enhance the platform, as well as an expert in the detail of how the system works to consult with Product Partners and other tech departments at Capital One.
The ideal candidate is passionate about quality software development and self motivated to drive change across a number of teams.

At least 8 years of professional software engineering experience (Internship experience does not apply)
At least 1 year experience with cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud)
9+ years of experience in at least one of the following: Java or Spring
3+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, or another cloud service
4+ years of experience in open source frameworks
1+ years of people management experience
2+ years of experience in Agile practices
