Job Title - Senior Associate- Operational Risk Management

We are looking to hire a new Senior Associate on our fast-moving, hard-working, and fun operational risk management team! Operational Risk Advisors are the liaisons between Operational Risk Management (ORM) and first line business partners. Serving as both an effective challenger and a trusted advisor, we are integrated into multiple dimensions of first line risk identification and mitigation activities. As an Operational Risk Advisor supporting our Card business, your role will require excellent communication and interpersonal skills, superb integrative thinking across the facets of operational risk, and a desire to help the enterprise appropriately manage operational risk.
This role will primarily provide second line risk advisory and challenge for our US Card business, with significant interaction with first and second line stakeholders, as well as UK Card, and Canada Card.
Provide challenge to the First Line of Defense’s risk-taking and risk assessments (risk and control self assessments, process level assessments, product risk assessments) based on analysis of the business risk profile, control environment, and internal / external events
Evaluate new products and initiatives from an operational risk perspective through the new product governance process
Consult with Card partners on projects, new initiatives, business objectives, processes, risk events, controls, and monitoring
Provide a grounded assessment of the Card operational risk profile through quarterly Divisional Operational Risk Reporting and other internal/external reporting
Work across the multiple operational risk programs and understand how they impact Card
Influence leaders within ORM, Compliance, and Card on key operational risks and actions needed
Develop risk analysis, perform deep dive investigations, and drive specific risk initiatives
Ensure that operational risk activities in Card are aligned with enterprise requirements and expectations
Support the First Line in the development of strong controls and a highly effective control environment
Bachelor’s Degree or Military Experience
At least 2 years of experience in Risk Management or Compliance, or Audit, or Finance
At least 2 years of experience in dealing with banking regulations
At least 3 years of experience in controls testing, process management, or product management
At least 2 years of experience in a leadership capacity on cross-functional teams
