As a Risk Manager at Capital One you’ll be responsible for working with business partners to identify and mitigate potential risks to Capital One. Risk Managers at Capital One are also highly motivated Risk Management professionals with excellent organizational and communication skills. They have a high level of exposure across lines of business and have the opportunity to work with Executives to create and implement innovative solutions to identify and mitigate potential risks to the Company.
Responsibilities:
- Engage with various lines of business within the Retail Bank division including banking operations and staff functions such as HR as well as other areas of Risk Management.
- Proactively conduct targeted customer, associate, and operational monitoring activities (e.g., Sales Practice, Conduct Risk, Customer Complaints) designed to analyze associate trends to provide appropriate oversight and insights for various leaders within the Retail Bank division.
- Effectively synthesize monitoring results, data and trends for Retail Risk review (e.g., monthly reporting, quarterly review meetings). Communicate complex results and implications, while incorporating different perspectives into deliverables.
- Support ad-hoc data requests for analysis as well as engagement with Audit, second line of defense testing engagements, and regulator requests.
- Collaborate with other Business Risk Offices to understand trends and themes across the enterprise.
- Provide timely feedback, on-the-job training and coaching to direct reports. Help team members grow their careers. Maintain an open, inclusive and trusting team environment.
Basic Qualifications:
- Associate’s Degree or military experience, or or at least 3 years of banking experience
- At least 1 year of Financial Services Risk Management Experience
- At least 1 year of Project Management experience
- At least 2 years of Process Management experience
- At least 5 years of experience supporting, partnering, and interacting with internal business clients
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5 years of Project or Process Management experience leading cross functional projects and programs in Risk
- 3 years of People Management experience
- 3 years of Financial Services risk management experience
- Ability to set direction, manage expectations and lead cross-functional teams
- 2 years of Agile Methodology Experience
