As part of the Virtual Card organization within Capital One, you'll be responsible for driving radical change around the future of payments, mobile devices, credit cards, and how people shop online. To fit in, you have to be excited by delivering services that empower amazingly great experiences that make life easier for our customers. You’ll need to be equally comfortable talking to techies, architects, designers, and analysts.

  • You know how to figure out customer expectations and insights, industry best practices, and how to work with our internal partners to get stuff done. 

In this role you will:

  • Envision and build a scalable core product platform that can power massive growth in virtual card adoption and use.

  • Lead a highly dynamic and multi-disciplinary team to develop and enhance digital payment products on a day to day basis. You will translate business strategies into products that delight our customers and position Capital One for substantial growth and disruption in eCommerce. You are a dynamic product owner familiar with Agile methodologies who will rally the team and work in a highly collaborative environment.

  • Have a passion for technology and the future it will drive.

  • Partner with external 3rd parties to solve business and consumer problems.  Bring solutions into the core virtual card product suite to scale across the enterprise.

  • Collaborate with internal partners across a complex organization. You will be exceptional at developing and nurturing relationships with key internal stakeholders in support of Capital One’s lines of business.

  • Collaborate with technology on the design of APIs,  microservices, and underlying architecture to support enterprise-wide solutions.

  • Be comfortable assessing product performance, lifecycle stages as well as enhancements that drive change in key performance indicators.

  • Organize and participate in research – qualitative and quantitative to include organizing and facilitating as needed. 

  • The successful candidate will be able to understand customer expectations; industry best practices; current gaps & technical constraints; participate in developing the roadmap; drive requirements and ultimately partner with IT Delivery, Operations, design, enterprise teams (e.g. Legal, Compliance) and third-party vendors to deliver the optimal customer experience.

  • The Product Manager will be responsible for communicating within the cross-functional team and on behalf of the team to stakeholders and executives. They will also be responsible for communicating with external strategic partner companies with whom we have strategic shared services.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or military experience

  • At least 3 years of experience in digital product management

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Business

  • MBA or Master’s degree

  • Experience delivering digital product in a platform company

  • At least 3 years of experience translating business strategy and analysis into consumer facing digital products including user experience design and usability understanding and evaluation

  • At least 2 years of experience in Agile product management
