Capital One is seeking a motivated professional to join the Finance Risk Management (FRM) Control and Transaction testing (CTT) team as a Principal Analyst. As a member of FRM, the associate will play a key role in executing robust and proactive risk management programs, partner with and influence key stakeholders to achieve business value while ensuring Finance is operating within enterprise risk management frameworks, and enable a strong culture of risk management that’s adaptable to a changing environment.
The Principal Analyst performs a key role within Capital One’s line of defense risk management model, to help ensure corporate initiatives and departmental processes comply with applicable laws, regulations, business requirements and controls. This position is responsible for developing and performing independent testing of processes and controls accurately and timely per the established testing methodology. The role builds and executes tests across various Finance lines of business (LOBs) and a basic understanding of regulatory requirements and controls as applied to business processes is expected. The Principal Associate partners with numerous stakeholders and subject matter experts and supports FRM’s overall objective of ensuring the Finance Division maintains an effective risk and control management environment.
-Establish and maintain effective engagements with risk advisors and Finance business partners to provide business value through robust and effective assessments of the control environment.
-Develop and execute transaction and control tests across multiple LOBs (line of business) and workstreams in accordance with FRM (finance risk management) testing methodology, including procedures, job aids and interaction models
-Design test approaches, perform and review tests across full spectrum of complexity, including assessments for design and operating effectiveness
-Assess business process adherence to applicable laws, regulatory requirements, business requirements and controls
-Document test results per FRM testing methodology; escalate testing exceptions as appropriate and partner with and influence stakeholders to achieve appropriate, agreed upon remediation.
-Develop reporting and provide results to LOB partners
-Support retrieval and quality assurance of data used for testing across tests executed within each month
-Support related governance activities, projects, audits or exams, as requested
-Understand regulatory and business process environment changes and the impact of those changes to current and upcoming tests
-Bachelor’s degree or military experience
-At least 2 years of experience in risk management or regulatory compliance
-At least 2 years of experience in process design, control design, or execution testing
-4+ years of experience in risk management or regulatory compliance, preferably in the financial services sector (e.g., compliance, legal, audit, data governance, business risk office, credit risk management)
-4+ years of experience in process or control design and execution testing via quality assurance, audit or examination
-CIA, CQIA, CRCM, APRM, ICBRR or related professional certification
