As a Risk Manager in Capital One’s Customer Resiliency Risk Management organization you’ll be responsible for working with business partners to identify and mitigate potential risks to Capital One. You will create visibility to business health, as well as identify best practices and lessons learned, regarding components of the Risk framework. You will work with Legal and Compliance, as well as business and process owners, to assess our current state of compliance, develop an action plan, and support the business in implementing those solutions. Risk Managers at Capital One are the front line of defense to ensure our Company remains stable and profitable.
We are seeking dedicated, disciplined, process professionals who excel in a team environment and are experts in process improvement. Risk Managers at Capital One are highly motivated Risk Management professionals with excellent organizational and communication skills. They have a high level of exposure across lines of business and have the opportunity to work with Executives to create and implement innovative solutions to identify and mitigate potential risks to the Company. This individual must be able to effectively communicate and influence partners across the company and across multiple levels of the organization. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to a dynamic agile environment are essential to succeeding in this role.
Serve as interdepartmental liaison, interfacing with lines of business and other areas of Risk, to identify and manage risks associated with the US Card collections and recoveries business
Continuously evaluate the current control environment and partner with business stakeholders to close control gaps through process improvements and control development
Stay current on the changing regulatory environment and assist in the identification of business impacts
Gather data and reporting; perform initial analysis or potentially evaluate data provided by team analysts
Collaborate with horizontal business partners to design and implement internal governance processes
Assist with control testing and issue remediation efforts
Improve overall business heath through greater risk management within the department
Bachelor’s Degree or military experience
At least 1 year of Financial Services Risk Management Experience
At least 2 years of experience in Process management
At least 2 years of experience supporting, partnering and interacting with internal business clients
3+ years of experience in Process Management
3+ years of Financial Services Risk Management experience
Lean certification or Six Sigma certification
Ability to set direction, manage expectations and lead cross-functional teams
