Our Talent Brand & Marketing team helps inform and educate candidates, partners, and our own associates about the benefits of working at Capital One, our distinctive company culture and values, and our commitments to changing banking - and the communities around us - for good through our work.
We’re looking for a diversity, inclusion and belonging strategist to support a multi-year roadmap that positions Capital One as a diverse and inclusive employer of choice. Here, people from historically underrepresented groups can thrive and build meaningful careers. We’re looking for a talented teammate who can leverage research, data and insights to develop break-through communications campaigns, partnerships and associate engagement strategies that help to deliver on our goal to meaningfully change representation at Capital One.
You’re a gifted communicator who sees storytelling as an incredibly powerful tool for connecting with people. You’ll use research, data and insights to understand what makes someone seek out or consider a new job opportunity, and you’ll work to meet them where they are in their journey. You find satisfaction in connecting the dots across teams and rallying people around a common goal, all while navigating gray space to create a strategy and plan.
Whether it’s identifying a new partnership opportunity, leading the creation of publisher content that authentically shares #LifeAtCapitalOne and our commitments, or prepping a spokesperson for interviews, you understand how to use storytelling to spur conversation, interaction and action. And you’re looking for a new role where you can use your strategic communications skills to be part of something bigger - to help others.
As a diversity, inclusion and belonging strategist on our Talent Brand & Marketing team, you’ll help build the strategy that makes us an in-demand employer of choice. Leveraging our mission, vision and values as your foundation, you’ll help us deliver powerful messages that help candidates understand #LifeatCapitalOne. Through engaging outreach and communications campaigns, you’ll help bring to life how diversity, inclusion and belonging fuel our creativity and drive our sense of purpose. You’ll entice prospective candidates to bring their diverse perspectives to the table and consider a career with us, and inspire our associates to share their stories.
What we’re looking for:
A storyteller, who sees words as an incredibly powerful tool for connecting with people and understands the power of diverse perspectives
A creative problem solver with the ability to connect the dots across teams and workstreams, amplifying investments and partnerships through coordinated efforts
A strategic communicator who’s inspired by driving change, building something new and delivering great experiences for associates and candidates
A highly organized and adaptable team player who’s comfortable managing multiple projects with cross-functional teams
Someone who approaches assignments from a candidate-centric perspective, while also understanding higher-level business and marketing objectives
A strategic advisor and thought partner across Capital One’s core and extended DIB community providing bold thought leadership, expert insight, deep expertise and related programming/leadership recommendations
You’ll love your job the most if you:
Enjoy partnering with subject matter experts and senior leaders to tackle meaningful people and talent initiatives
Love problem solving and proposing research and data-backed strategies to better understand what needs to be true to attract people from all backgrounds and experiences to Capital One
Feel comfortable communicating with, presenting to and gathering feedback from leaders at all levels, including adapting your style based on the audience
Work quickly without compromising quality, knowing that iteration and testing are just part of creating exceptional experiences
Take initiative, aren’t afraid to fail, ask thoughtful questions, and constantly seek better ways of working and communicating
Find satisfaction in connecting the dots and working across teams to meet and exceed project and partnership goals
Bachelor’s degree or military experience
At least 4 years of experience in marketing, communications, or copywriting
At least 2 years of brand experience in multi-channel marketing
At least 1 year of experience in financial services or other highly regulated industry
At least 1 year of experience in diversity and inclusion marketing or communications
