Analyst, Supplier Management

The Enterprise Supplier Management (ESM) Analyst’s primary responsibility is to provide decision support and financial analysis to the Enterprise Supplier Management organization.  This will include model building and scenario analysis in support of strategic buying decisions, spend data analysis, market trend analysis, and operational performance management. The role requires strong communication, problem solving, critical thinking, and influencing skills in order to effectively articulate outcomes of analysis and relevant insights and develop presentations to communicate business and analysis results to senior audiences.

Procurement process improvement through data analysis -

  • Map category and organization spend data.  Analyze to identify supply base rationalization opportunities and cross-enterprise supplier management opportunities

  • Assist with efforts to create a rich data environment that enables operational leaders and analysts to drive more impactful business decisions and efficiencies through spend and transaction transparency

  • Develop user friendly monthly dashboard and department / organization KPIs through the use of Tableau or other analytical / BI tools

  • Provide financial analysis through cost savings calculation modeling and / or validation.  Improve the quality and discipline of the savings forecasts

  • Provide analytical support in researching market trends and updating key market indices.  Leverage Gartner and other services / tools to provide relevant reporting and information to the team.  Coordinate Analyst calls with these services as needed

  • Early engagement in complex, high value sourcing efforts

  • Influence decision making process to ensure optimal decision is made from analytical perspective
  • Ensure analytical rigor is incorporated into key sourcing engagements.  Join select sourcing efforts at onset to:

    • Model existing cost structure to enable baseline comparisons

    • Leverage ESM Analyst resources to identify potential suppliers

    • Work with team to define supplier selection model

    • Develop quote template and quote analysis model

    • Calculate cost impact / savings from final deal

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or military experience

  • At least 3 years’ experience in financial analysis or operational analysis

  • At least 3 years’ experience with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications

  • 4+ years’ experience in financial analysis or operational analysis

  • 4+ years’ experience with financial modeling

  • 3+ years’ experience in strategic analysis & planning

  • Experience with Tableau or other Data visualizations

  • Proven business relationship, communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills

  • Demonstrated independent problem solving and strategic thinking abilities

  • Strong teamwork skills; ability to positively contribute to overall success of the team
