The Community Impact and Investing team at Capital One is looking for a team-oriented Senior Grants Manager who has a commitment to community service, collaboration, and business impact. The Senior Manager will work in partnership with the market, line of business, and internal and external stakeholder groups to create and implement community strategies and grant investments that:
Align with our Capital One Impact Initiative Strategy
Serve the community’s highest needs
Deliver business returns including Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) results, business development, associate engagement, and reputation
Lead the Texoma team
Primary Responsibilities:
Develop and lead regional strategic plans for corporate grant management, stakeholder engagement, associate volunteerism, and community leadership in our Texoma people centers - Dallas, Plano. Fort Worth, Austin and Houston and Tulsa
Establish and manage multiple grant portfolios to maximize and meet targets for CRA, reputation, associate engagement, and business development for our Community Impact & Investing Team (CI&I), Market President Network and Capital One Lines of Business
Create and balance nonprofit partnerships that respond to the Capital One Impact Initiative strategy and market-level CRA goals
Evaluate grantee performance, outcomes and return on philanthropic investments. Where needed, the ability to transition away from relationships that are not working to partnerships that are better aligned with objectives
Lead by fostering an environment of trust, collaboration and belonging as well as developing, challenging, and coaching others to reach their goals
Partner closely with the CI&I teammates to ensure that grants are supporting volunteerism goals as defined by the business and CRA assessments
Collaborate and coordinate with teammates across CI&I that are supporting other lines of business and/or in markets
Work in partnership with line of business and corporate partner teams (including but not limited to Financial Services, Commercial, Small Business, Retail, CRA Compliance, Design, Community Finance, Corporate Communications, Brand, etc.) to achieve goals
Identify and sustain mutually productive relationships with key community leaders and connect associates and executives as appropriate
Facilitate executive board placement in the DFW Area.
Represent Capital One in the community through networking, public speaking, and event attendance and/or
Successfully manage multiple budgets, meet quarterly forecast projections, and ensure grant applicants provide appropriate documentation
Maintain effective and efficient best practices in process, problem solving and decision-making
Travel up to 25%, typically local or regional travel

Exceptional organizational and prioritization skills and the ability to juggle multiple projects and activities with a wide variety and volume of partners while managing change and shifting priorities
Substantial analytical skills with a keen instinct on how to gather and interpret meaningful data
Powerful teamwork, partnership building and relationship management skills
Corroborated experience in achieving "win-win," measurable outcomes through corporate-community partnerships
First-rate interpersonal skills with a talent to naturally build and maintain relationships at all levels and strategically leverage relationships appropriately
Experience managing a portfolio of mission-driven/philanthropic investments and/or grants
Function as a team lead within the Community Impact & Investing Team managing up to 4 associates.
Deep knowledge of Community Reinvestment Act
People management experience with focus on including, empowering, and inspiring the team
Nonprofit or corporate philanthropy work history in the region
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or military experience
At least five years of experience in community relations, program management, grant management, or a combination
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Corporate Social Responsibility, Business, Public Relations, or Communications
Financial Services Industry experience
6+ years of experience in community relations, grant making or equivalent nonprofit and community facing roles
Written communications professional experience
