Senior Design Analytics Manager

We are seeking a senior manager who is passionate about building insights, data & analytics in experience design in order to solve customer problems.

Through your work, you will dive into leading-edge design data measures and research and answer crucial questions like:

  • What are the measures and data in design tools, systems and operations that can show design teams how we get to world class quality?
  • What will it take to build design data (tools, systems, team deliverables, design data definitions) both measuring operations and how design experiences can and should be measured in market across our experiences?
  • What will it take to influence roadmaps with true quantitative customer insight at scale?

As a senior manager for insights and measures you will leverage your design experience, research and technical skills to innovate, build and maintain well-managed design experience data solutions to tackle business problems. You not only loving thinking strategically about research, analytics & design data quality, but drive alignment & change across FS design portfolios. You love influencing product roadmaps with quantitative understanding as much as you drive ideas and insights from qualitative studies as well.

Type of work:

  • Directing the build of well-managed experience design data solutions, tools, and capabilities to enable self-service frameworks for designers, researchers & top of house
  • Drive an understanding and adherence to the principles of design data quality management
  • Work collaboratively with design leadership teams and technical teams to define standards of experience data that provide meaningful insights to design & experience teams
  • Build strategy & roadmap for developing reporting capabilities for the controls & measuresthat matter most to measuring design experiences
  • Hiring, managing & cultivating a diverse team that can build the tools, metrics and reporting for design experience data
  • Help with overall thought leadership around design insight measures & development at the intersection of design, data and tech for the sake of creating meaningful, measurable business and customer value

  • A storyteller: You can weave and share compelling narratives around research findings and design concepts 
  • An energizer: You gather and integrate feedback, influence stakeholders and create energy for ideas or initiatives
  • An open book: You’re comfortable sharing in-progress work with teammates and partners
  • Ensure Data Management policies are followed, and controls are monitored
  • Assist in capturing, maintaining, and analyzing data, interpreting it to ensure consistency and adequate Risk Management adherence

  • Strategic leadership: Develop business strategies that will drive growth, profitability, and competitive success for Capital One in the face of shifting consumer and regulatory behavior
  • Strategic & analytic orientation: A proven track record of decision making and problem solving based on analytics. Conceptual thinking skills must be complemented by a strong quantitative orientation
  • Strong business judgment, leadership and integrity: He/she should be a tenacious decision maker, able to bring a healthy, aggressive, yet responsible approach to business
  • Solid people leadership experience: Ability to build and leverage the capabilities of a high-performing team, as well as business partners across the enterprise. He/she should foster innovation, drive critical decisions, hold business partners accountable, and be able to consistently deliver results
  • Strong executive communication skills: Impeccable written and oral communication credentials, coupled with strategic influencing skills and the ability to drive agreement through intellect, interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Clear results orientation: display an intense focus on achieving both short and long term goals. He/she should be able to drive and execute an agenda in an uncertain and fluid environment

Basic Qualifications

  • At least 7 years of experience with process and analytics management

Preferred Qualifications

  • Comfortable managing cross-channel and cross-organizational experiences
  • Comfortable working with Risk, HR, Finance, Tech and Strategy partners
  • Experience managing multiple large portfolios of work
  • Familiarity working with design, creative or analytics teams
