Security Manager - Enterprise Safety & Security

Capital One is looking for an experienced Security Manager, Enterprise Safety & Security. The Manager serves as the primary point of contact between Enterprise Safety & Security and Capital One's lines of business (LOBs) and corporate facilities providing advice and solutions that mitigate operational, strategic and tactical risks on a regional level. Performs regional vulnerability assessments that ensure Capital One LOBs and corporate facilities are compliant with corporate standards, industry requirements, governmental regulations pertaining to security and ensuring the safety and security of associates. Partners with multiple clients through a combination of internal and external relationship management, applied business analysis and project management. Establishes senior management support for security initiatives that will yield significant business impacts. Responsible for planning, organizing and executing assurance reviews of existing and emerging security programs on a regional basis. Designs, develops and executes regional tests and programs to assess compliance with security-related policies, procedures and applicable banking laws and regulations. Attends meetings at all levels and communicates thoughts and ideas in an organized manner. Manages a large contract security guard staff across a large campus and corporate office environments.


  • Provide security consulting to internal and external Enterprise Safety & Security Clients in a regional area of responsibility

  • Perform regional vulnerability assessments that ensure Capital One LOBs and corporate facilities are compliant with corporate standards, industry requirements and governmental regulations pertaining to security

  • Forge partnerships with Enterprise Safety & Security colleagues and external clients on security-related programs

  • Effectively influence associates across the organization to implement and support security programs

  • Establish and maintain collaborative client relationships

  • Responsible for planning, organizing and executing assurance reviews of existing and emerging regional security programs to ensure the safety of Capital One associates and provide a safe workplace

  • Review data to determine security and safety trends and risk mitigation

  • Builds partnerships with law enforcement and other security professionals

You Should have:

  • The ability to manage staff across diverse regional environments to include open campus environments and corporate facilities.

  • Security experience with a fortune 500 company with regional responsibilities or similar experience in a large security consulting / contract security firm with regional responsibilities.

  • Proven ability to develop, manage and influence relationships with local, state and federal law enforcement, emergency management officials and organization

  • Proven experience partnering with internal and external clients to further organizational security objectives.

  • Proven ability to execute on deliverables, provide a high level of customer service, and have impeccable integrity and professionalism.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or military experience

  • At least 5 years of experience in Physical Security or Security Management

  • At least 5 years of experience managing a contract security staff

  • At least 5 years of experience in Relationship Management or Security Consulting

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified Protection Professional (CPP) or Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE)

  • At least 5 years of experience in Analysis program management

  • At least 7 years of experience in physical security, or threat-management, or security consulting

  • At least 7 years of experience in Analysis program management
