We're looking for a driven individual that combines great credit discipline with balanced decision making, excellent organization skills and customer focus to join our Small Business Lending team as a Small Business SBA Portfolio Manager. This Small Business Portfolio Manager role focuses on portfolio review with a concentration on SBA. The Portfolio Manager will underwrite and approve small business credit actions with Maximum Potential Exposure of up to $5 Million, and maintains up to $500,000 individual commercial loan authority for secured and unsecured loans. As an experienced member of a high performing team, the Portfolio Manager is expected to serve as a subject matter expert, helping pursue the SB Lending agenda with special projects, and coaching other individuals on the team by contributing to department training.
Handles all aspects of portfolio management in accordance with internal credit policy and SBA Standard Operating Procedures for the bank's SBA loan portfolio
Consults, mentors, and trains other associates on appropriate servicing responsibilities.
Performs portfolio management tasks including portfolio monitoring, past due collection activities, financial requirement collection, annual reviews, servicing actions, and communications with the SBA
Collaborates with legal, collections and special assets to develop effective risk management strategies for a variety of credit actions including loan modifications, Purchase Demand Kits, Offers in Compromise, Reinstatements, and Charge Off Requests
Ensures accurate reporting to the SBA
Identifies risks proactively and delivers improvements to our Small Business policy, underwriting, and/or risk management capabilities
Performs special project work as appropriate.
Reviews SBA credit files for quality assurance in advance of audit and regulatory reviews
Ensures appropriate application of all bank, SBA, and line of business policies and procedures; supporting and driving adherence to regulatory compliance requirements.
Recommends credit actions for loans up to $5MM.
Maintains up to $500,000 in commercial loan authority for secured and unsecured loans.
Delivers a great overall customer experience working closely with all partners.
At least 5 years of experience in one of the following: credit administration or loan underwriting or commercial lending
2+ years experience with SBA lending
Completion of a formal credit training or credit underwriting
