Risk Manager (Small Business Bank Risk Office)

Capital One’s Small Business Bank Business Risk Office is looking for a risk manager to provide risk management support for the Small Business Bank Customer Experience team, including Operations, Account Opening, and Digital Servicing. The Business Risk Office is accountable to Small Business Leadership to identify and mitigate risks, to ensure compliance with laws/regulations/policies, and to detect and remediate issues. This requires strong collaboration with various leaders of the business as well as Legal, Compliance, and other enterprise partners to ensure well-managed operations.

 

Role Responsibilities:

  • Perform risk assessments and advise the business on risk

  • Consult with the business team on business strategy and business operations functions

  • Facilitate and ensure compliance with policies

  • Identify opportunities for continued improvement in the business

  • Identify, document and track resolution of risk events / issues impacting customers stemming from process breakdowns or other problems, and help develop permanent corrective actions

  • Partner proactively with other risk office groups to help document policies, processes, standards, and procedures

  • Assist in the development and implementation of risk management controls

  • Assist the business in the management of internal audits and exams

  • Manage special projects

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and proven relationship building

  • Travel up to 10%

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of experience in one of the following: Risk Management, Project Management, Compliance, or Process Management

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • One year of experience in the Financial Services industry
